We are currently seeking a
Custodian
for the
Patuxent Wildlife Research Center
in Laurel, MD. This role supports the cleanliness and maintenance of public and employee areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
Under the supervision of the Custodial Manager and on-site supervisor, the Custodian performs a variety of cleaning and light maintenance tasks, including:
Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
Cleaning restrooms, kitchens, and public areas
Emptying trash and recycling receptacles
Cleaning windows, mirrors, and interior glass
Restocking supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.)
Following all safety protocols and maintaining equipment
Performing occasional deep cleaning or special projects
Assisting with setup or breakdown of rooms for events or meetings
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous custodial or cleaning experience a plus
