GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This job requires the Twin Peaks Janitor, Busser to clean and maintain the Twin Peaks restaurant. Each team member is defined by pride, extreme standards, and discipline when it comes to keeping his/her restaurant clean and sanitized.

* Clean TP black hat facing forward at all times. Brim never bent.
* Hair must be kept clean. All hair must be kept underneath the TP hat.
* Clean shaven. Beards & mustaches are allowed, but must be maintained.

* Jewelry is not allowed to be worn in ears, face, around the neck or wrists.

The Custodian supports the campus by maintaining clean, safe, and functional facilities. This position is responsible for daily cleaning, sanitation, minor repairs, and event support in common areas, administrative spaces, and laboratories. The Desert Research Institute (DRI) is seeking a dedicated individual to fill a full-time Custodian position for the Reno, NV campus. The Custodian supports the campus by maintaining clean, safe, and functional facilities. This position is responsible for daily cleaning, sanitation, minor repairs, and event support in common areas, administrative spaces, and laboratories. The Desert Research Institute (DRI) is an environmental sciences research organization within the Nevada System of Higher Education. Required Qualifications
* This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and six (6) months of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR
* Six (6) months of general work experience and six (6) months of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR
* Six (6) months of experience as a Custodial Worker Trainee in Nevada State service; OR
* An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
A valid Class "C" driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. This position is designated as Essential Personnel.
Compensation Grade
Grade 21
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.

Employees are required to participate in The Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada (PERS) upon hire, a defined benefit plan. Members are eligible for retirement benefits after a 5-year vesting period.
