OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Under direct supervision, performs a variety of custodial duties for assigned Child Development Center(s), inclusive of all interior space and adjunct exterior property to maintain a clean, orderly, and comfortable environment for ESSC associates, participants, and guests.

Maintains administrative, eating, and child activity areas in clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions. ABOUT THE POSITION
Under general supervision, the Exhibits Custodian I/II is responsible for the acceptance, preservation, safeguarding, storage, transportation, and legal disposition of exhibits entered into court evidence. Incumbents must exercise a high degree of responsibility in performing assignments, and incumbents perform other work as required.
The Exhibits Custodian I level is used for training purposes. Incumbents will be expected to gradually perform a broader range of duties with increasing responsibility and independence. An Exhibits Custodian I is expected to qualify for advancement to Exhibits Custodian II by the end of a twelve (12) month probationary period. There is no permanent status in this classification. Upon advancement to Exhibits Custodian II, incumbents are placed on a six (6) month promotional probation period.
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
* Receives, logs, and maintains custody of property entered into court evidence; may testify in court proceedings regarding evidence of "chain of custody."
* Ensures security and preservation of exhibits by: cataloging and maintaining records of location and all handling until case is closed, storing items numerically by nature of property or evidence and/or nature of case, and retrieving property as requested by authorized persons.
* Prepares exhibits and ensures chain of custody for public viewing, court transfers, and temporary or permanent releases pursuant to court orders, statutes, or court procedures. Obtains signatures, accompanies requesting parties during review of exhibits, and escorts parties through exhibit rooms to ensure preservation of the chain of custody.
* Takes annual physical inventory of exhibits and assists with random audits throughout the year.
* Determines eligibility for disposal of exhibits by following statutory or court-ordered procedures and timelines, and conducting research to qualify cases for disposal; drafts and sends disposition notices to appropriate parties; updates exhibits management and case management systems; processes requests or applications for return of exhibits; disposes of eligible exhibits by various methods, including special handling of certain exhibits and the return of specific exhibits to law enforcement for appropriate disposal.
* Answers questions on the telephone or at the counter, from the public, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, or court personnel, on the status of exhibits or case files in custody and regulations relating to retention or destruction of exhibits.
* Handles and maintains custody of hazardous exhibits, such as biological material, weapons, and narcotics, in a secure storage location; follows special handling procedures for maintaining custody of valuables, such as cash and jewelry.
* Operates a motor vehicle to transport exhibits along with case files or other property items.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT (All Levels):
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of full-time (or equivalent) clerical experience that included customer service in person or via the telephone.
SUBSTITUTION FOR EXPERIENCE:
Education or training directly related to the knowledge and ability requirements may be substituted for the one year of experience at the rate of twenty-four (24) semester units or thirty-six (36) quarter units for one (1) year of experience.Note: To receive substitution credit, a copy of your college official transcripts must be included with your application.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
* Extensive experience with court/legal Case Management Systems (e.g., Vision, Voyager, and Odyssey)
* Extensive experience with Microsoft Office
* Experience driving a cargo van is highly desirable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Completion and passage of a pre-employment physical is required for this position. The requirement includes the ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
LICENSEREQUIRED:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License by date of appointment may be required for some positions.

Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Building Maintenance Level II performs routine janitorial duties and moderate preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned senior housing facility and upholds TELACU Property Management's (TPM) highest standard.
Essential Job Duties
Inspects the grounds, building and mechanical equipment daily for safety and health hazards potential, and communicates any concerns to the Regional Maintenance Supervisor.
Works with the Property Manager in completing Service Requests for tenants within 24 hours of receipt.
Accountable for maintaining the Preventive Maintenance Chart.
Cleans and prepares vacant units for occupancy. Removes old finishes and prepares surfaces for repairs, sanding and patching as needed. Completes the vacant unit checklist and submits to the Property Manager for quality review.
Mixes cleaning solutions to appropriate strength. Stores all cleaning solutions and chemicals used in a proper labeled container and safe manner as established by the Maintenance Manual.
Cleans facility offices and all common areas according to the Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
Removes graffiti within 24 hours of observation/notice.
Acts as the liaison between vendors and the Regional Maintenance Supervisor by providing access to senior housing facility equipment and reporting status on repairs and services.
Orders pre-approved janitorial supplies, chemicals and materials and ensures proper inventory amounts are available for use.
Adheres to eTime management systems and attendance policies.
Occasionally drives own vehicle to other company facilities and supply stores for company business purposes as required.
Responds to after hour and weekend emergencies.
Maintains and replaces electrical and mechanical systems, inspects equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions by determining cause and making necessary adjustments.

Works with chemicals and safety equipment. Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains, restrooms, sinks, fixtures, toilets, urinals, showers, bathtubs and replenishes all supplies. Cleans dispensers, mirrors, tile, walls, doors, glass, whiteboards, windows/sills, blinds and drains. Remove trash and debris to outside dumpsters. Remove decorations and flyers. Cleans kitchens, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, offices, breakrooms, hallways, conference rooms, and stairs. Dusts and mops tile and cleans all horizontal and vertical surfaces. Cleans upholstery, furniture, desks, tables, chairs, cabinets, and counters. Sweeps, scrubs floors, mops, scrubs tile grout, waxes, buff floors, strips tile, polishes floors and concrete. Vacuums, spot cleans and clean carpets. Power washes, removes graffiti, gum, cobwebs. Performs minor maintenance and repairs, changes lights, and cleans equipment. Completes special projects including event set up, move furniture, completes laundry and linens. Uses computer to complete work assignments, training and leave requests. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Basic knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work. Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties of the position. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety. Ability to operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies applicable to the position. Ability to use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication. Ability to perform work involving regular physical activity, observe safety requirements, and adhere to safe work practices and methods. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Position may require the ability to safely move up to 50 pounds and/or possession of a valid California driver's license.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Perform cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of buildings scheduled by the Facilities Management supervisory team. This includes, but is not limited to, dusting blinds, bulletin boards, drapes, doors, facility areas, fire extinguishers, fire extinguisher boxes, furniture, light fixtures, pictures, restroom fixtures, stair rails, vents, window ledges and sills; damp wipe and polish furniture; mopping, wet mopping, waxing and buffing floors including stairways, entrances, steps, and elevator cabs; polishing glass doors, glass partitions, kick plate door hardware, elevator doors, and drinking fountains; cleaning chalkboards and dry erase boards; washing windows; cleaning and sanitizing restroom fixtures, toilets, hardware, tile, mirrors, partitions, floors, etc.; replace restroom supplies and ensuring toilets are clear of debris; wash countertops; and vacuuming carpeted areas, cushioned furniture, and elevator door tracks.
* Empty and wipe ashtrays, waste baskets, and trash receptacles and replace plastic liners; clean trash chutes.
* Use the provided cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the office building looking clean, disinfected, and professional. Operate and clean various equipment, including power-cleaning equipment, such as buffers, scrubbers, and extractors.
* Act on customer special requests for removal of debris, clean-up of spills, and similar customer needs quickly and with a professional manner. Perform specialized custodial work upon the work of the staff members and supervisor.
* Replenish soap and paper supplies to ensure all pantries and restrooms are fully stocked with the necessary sanitization items.
* Stock and clean supply rooms and service carts. All areas where custodial items are kept are expected to be organized and tidy. Assist in the delivery of campus custodial supplies.
* Assist in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures.
* Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
* Conserve energy: night shift personnel should turn on only those lights in the immediate work area; turn off lights when leaving offices, classrooms, laboratories, etc., unless otherwise directed; close all windows, unless otherwise directed; shut off all faucets and report leaky and/or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
* Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work orders and checking supply levels.
* Adhere to the University's safety policies as well as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to create a safe work environment for all LMU campus community.
* Set up furniture or return furniture to its standard configuration after completion of work. Assist in the relocation of furniture.
