    Roles Complete cleaning schedule for assigned areas within the time and frequency requirements as specified by the Physical Plant Director, Supervisor, or Custodial Lead. Responsibilities * Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods: strip, refinish and buff floors in rooms, hallways and stairwells; carpet cleaning. * Perform event schedule setups * Operate cleaning equipment, arrange and move furniture, fixtures and equipment, assist other workers as needed. * Observe and report on a maintenance work order form the need for repairs, and replacements to equipment, furniture, buildings and fixtures. * Responsible for assigned building(s). Qualifications * Valid, unrestricted Michigan Drivers License. * Certification of good health by a licensed physician. * A high school diploma or equivalent. * Ability to accept supervision and carry out instructions. * Ability to maintain good working relations with supervisors, co-workers and other Northwood University personnel. * Three years experience in the trade or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience is preferred. * Good written and verbal communication skills, the aptitude of successful completion of the characteristic job duties. Physical Environment A great deal of physical effort is involved in the following activities: walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, reaching, lifting and carrying heavy equipment and supplies weighing up to but not limited to 75 pounds. A great deal of mental processing is involved in the following areas; reading, remembering, observing and evaluating, reasoning, measuring, communicating verbally in person, on the phone and in writing.
