Job Description
Responsible for the heavy-duty cleaning/sanitation of kitchen equipment including stoves, hoods, ovens and appliances. Sanitation of stoves/ovens, grills, hoods and steam tables using various body movements-including standing, reaching, climbing and stooping for periods of time. Change oil in deep fryer-lift fryer and drain oil, either by lifting the fryer bucket and/or releasing the drain lever on the bigger units. Clean fryer using scouring pad in a circular motion, replace oil.

Responsible for the tasks assigned by the Steward Assistant and Executive Steward and Supervisor.
Coordinate materials and equipment to maintain cleanliness/sanitation of work station, and communicate problems/concerns to supervisor or kitchen management.
Ability to understand written English to read any caution or safety notices.
This position requires considerable physical activity on a continuous basis throughout the shift including working in confined spaces and awkward positions, requiring standing, crouching, kneeling, stooping and reaching overhead.
Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use scraper, griddle brick, scouring pad, towels, squeegee, and heavy duty gloves.
Ability to operate kitchen equipment, stoves and ovens.
Ability to operate heavy equipment including high pressure steam cleaner, heavy floor scrubbers and other heavy cleaning equipment.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders to perform duties 100 percent of the time.

Position Details
Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6pm to 6:30am
Pay: $17/hour
What You'll Do: As a Day Porter, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for everyone. Key responsibilities include:
Cleaning & Maintenance: Sweep, mop, vacuum floors, and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and counters. You'll also clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
Restocking Supplies: Keep restrooms stocked with essentials like toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Ensure dispensers are filled and monitor supplies across the facility.
Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
Safety & Security: Identify safety hazards and report them to the supervisor. Maintain a secure and safe environment for building occupants.
Customer Service: Provide courteous, helpful assistance to staff, visitors, and fellow team members, creating a positive and welcoming environment.

What We're Looking For:
We're seeking someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and a team player. To succeed in this role, you should have:
Experience: At least one year of janitorial or cleaning experience preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills: Ability to use cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety protocols. Must be able to work independently and interact courteously with others.
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 25 lbs. Must be comfortable using basic cleaning tools and equipment.
