This position has responsibility for the detailed cleaning of offices, classrooms and public rest rooms. Duties also include daily scripted work and periodic maintenance assignments from the Assistant Supervisor Facilities Services.
This is an Essential Personnel position, which can require that the incumbent must report for duty and work through emergencies, and also can be designated by the supervisor as essential for the accomplishment of work, or for the completion of a critical task.
* Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 45 lbs., up and down stairs and throughout the work area
* Ability to climb ladders up to 6' in height and flights of stairs
* Ability to operate commercial cleaning machinery including but not limited to rotary buffers, vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, man lifts, extractors, and blowers
* Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions with simple diagrams

The National WWII Museum is currently seeking Custodians. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Custodian position performs daily and/or nightly duties as communicated by the on-duty supervisor: Director of Facilities, the Assistant Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker, or Lead Custodian.
Requirements
Perform routine custodial tasks according to established maintenance schedules.
Perform special assigned duties for floor care including buffing, sealing and stripping, carpet shampoo and extraction, auto scrubbing operations, and pressure washing of the sidewalks.
Ensure engraved bricks are well maintained and clean.
Provide input to the Director of Facilities on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibit repairs.

Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities or the Lead Custodian.
Qualifications:
Physical ability to perform manual work.

Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning and stocking restrooms; sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing as needed.
Perform cleaning duties on facility equipment, chairs, desks, counters, sinks risers, tables, walls carpets, concrete and tile floors and operable walls and barricades as needed.
Perform janitorial cleaning of all interior non-public areas such as offices and service hallways.
Perform cleaning of interior windows and glass doors at all times
Maintain general meeting room readiness prior to event set-up such as dusting window and door frames and fixtures, refreshing paint surfaces as required and cleaning of air duct grates.
Perform deep cleaning/extraction and stain and gum removal on carpets in all areas during and after event hours or as required.
Control of housekeeping equipment including but not limited to brooms, mops, buckets and wringers, toilet brushes, garbage bags, push brooms, cleaning cloths, gloves, masks and cleaning solutions, etc.
Report to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform, including name tag. Personal appearance and grooming must conform to PC dress code.
Observe and report facility repairs and maintenance as necessary.
Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions.
Performs other assigned duties as required.
