Janitorial Supervisors are those employees who are generally responsible for the supervising the cleaning of all
areas of assigned building(s). These areas include offices, conference rooms, corridors, lobbies, and other public
areas such as break rooms and restrooms. Project work, especially floor maintenance, may be included in the
duties of these employees if these duties are assigned. Performance of or supervision of any of these duties may
be required. Other required duties may be assigned by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a SMFM Supervisor, you will be assigned building(s) and employees to supervise. At any time that sufficient
employees are not present to perform work, you will be required to accomplish any tasks the absent worker may
have been assigned to accomplish. However, the needs of the company may also dictate that you perform other
tasks. These are the principle on-going responsibilities that are necessary to accomplish the purpose of the job.
The tasks may vary depending on assigned building(s).
1) Ensuring that employees follow all customer security policies. Also, securing of the facility (entire building
and/or individual suites/spaces).
2) Operation of the alarm systems as applicable.
3) Ensuring that entrance areas are clean and free from paper and litter.
4) Ensuring that restroom cleaning and sanitization is accomplished.
5) Ensuring that office/patient exam room/conference room, etc. cleaning is accomplished.
6) Ensuring that corridor cleaning is accomplished.
7) Ensuring that trash is removed properly from facility.
8) Assisting Manager(s) with any light maintenance work. Such as replacement of ceiling tiles and light bulbs
as required.
9) Ensuring that your personal and your assigned employee’s time is recorded properly for work actually
accomplished.
10) Perform special function/activity set-up and clean-up.
11) Report maintenance concerns (work order requests) to your Manager.
12) Perform other duties as assigned.
13) Attend scheduled training sessions.
14) Perform employee training as needed.
15) Conduct quality inspections daily.
16) Assist manager with reports, communication and other record keeping.
17) Follow instructions from managers, adhere to company component policies and procedures
18) Display safe work practices
