PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. There is bending at the waist, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders. Dexterity needed of hands and fingers to operate power cleaning equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. WORK ENVIRONMENT * While performing the duties of the job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts. * Occasionally, cleaning products will have powerful odors. If not handled properly, the cleaning products can cause skin irritation and/or rashes. * Custodians also regularly have to clean up blood, saliva and other bodily fluids.
