A day in the life:
A Cleaner is responsible for basic cleaning, including cleaning of all common areas, restrooms, entrances, elevators, walkways, windows, furniture, fixtures, stairs, chairs, tables, telephones, drinking fountains, trashing, dusting, polishing, and other assigned items/areas. We have multiple shifts available as well as both full-time, part-time, and seasonal opportunities.
What you'll do as an Exceptional Team Member
Responsible for all basic cleaning
Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
Empty trash and recycling bins, and dispose of waste properly
Cleaning includes sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in all areas
Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums
Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management
Performs additional duties as required, including attending to flooded areas, incidental spills, and related clean-up work for trash and restroom concerns

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Custodian/Shift Leader is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing County facilities and performing related custodial duties.

Pay Rate Information:
The Custodian position is a non-union/part-time position and starting pay is $18.40/hr. This position is eligible for step pay increases within our Non-Union Grade 1 Wage Scale. Top end of the current wage scale for this position is $23.31/hr. This position is approx. 19 hours per week. Working hours are Monday through Thursday - 4 hour shifts, Friday - 3 hour shift. Work shifts begin at 4:30 p.m.
Essential Job Functions:
* Receives training in techniques and chemicals. Selects the proper chemicals and supplies required for the effective safe cleaning and sanitization of County facilities.
* Sweeps, mops, and vacuums hard surfaces, furniture, vents or carpeted floors.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
Cleans assigned areas daily; clean furniture, fixtures, walls, windows, lockers, glass, display cases, partitions, light fixtures, floor mats and runners, dry mop/wash floors etc.
Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks and play areas, neat and clean always.
Shovels and salts outside walkways and steps, as appropriate.
Keeps all floors and corridors in a clean and attractive condition.
Scrub, mop and disinfect toilets and lunchroom floors daily; clean sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
Wash windows, both inside and outside, as necessary and weather permitting.
Provide regular/orderly trash removal; empty trash cans daily and assist in keeping the grounds free from garbage.
Aid in minor building repairs such as replacing light bulbs. Report major repairs and property damage to management.
Responsible for closing the building; ensuring doors and windows are secured as well as turning off lights except lights left on for safety reasons.
Vacuums/power cleans carpets and upholstered furnishings, spot clean stains.
Moves/arranges furnishings, supplies and equipment as directed.
Polish hardware such as handles, push/kick plates, handrails, and drinking fountains.
Inform management about workplace concerns such as damaged equipment, leaks, noises, structural defects, unusual odors, etc.
Notifies management when supply levels require replenishment.
Follows Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information. Ensures that materials are labeled/stored properly and seeks advice about product use or disposal procedures.
Follows approved health and safety guidelines to clean up injuries involving chemicals, solvents, blood, body fluids and/or body tissues. Reports personal injuries that require treatment to management.
Adhere to company policies and procedures including local, state and federal laws and regulations. Attend safety, training, and informational meetings.
Protects district property and ensures assigned work areas are secured at the end of shift.
Maintains a professional appearance and wears work attire appropriate for the position.
Punctual; provides prompt notification to management of attendance delays or absences.
Always adhere to FERPA regulations and remain confidential.

In this role you will get to:
All Areas:
Ensure the bathrooms are clean: empty trash bins, disinfect toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
Restock supplies such as soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and others supplies.
Wipe down break room tables, chairs, countertops, and appliances. In the office areas, wipe down all flat surfaces (desks and tables) and high touch point locations (doors, handles, light switches)
Sweep, mop, and vacuum main areas
Empty garbage and recycling bins in the office, break room, and bathrooms in the facility.
Restock napkins, utensils, coffee machines, coffee supplies and other food supplies as needed.
Maintain hallways, entryways, computer areas, and locker rooms by ensuring they are clean and disinfected.
Ensure all common areas are tidy.
Spot cleaning any reported spills or messes.
Restock supplies for the next shift.
Notify manager of any broken fixtures, labels, or supplies, leaks, or supply shortages.
Other duties as assigned.
Office Areas:
Dust and wipe desks, furniture, fixtures, and office equipment
Clean conference rooms, reception areas, and shared workspaces
Clean windows, glass doors, and partitions
Disinfect high touch point locations such as doorknobs, light switches, and appliances
Maufacturing Areas:
Sweep and scrub production floors, aisles, and walkways

Job Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1 year of experience cleaning and/or working in a manufacturing environment.
Accuracy and timeliness in completion of work assignments is a must
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis
Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED.
