Job Description:
Work directly under the field supervisor to provide demand service to CAPS Industrial and Commercial Customers. Primarily responsible for performing troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance to a variety of comfort and process classified and non-classified HVAC/R equipment including refrigeration, ice machines, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, light commercial furnaces, boilers, chillers, rental equipment, VFD's, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, pressurizers, pneumatic controls, steam heating, dehumidifiers and humidifiers.
Job Duties:
Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot various classified and non-classified heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment in an industrial environment.
Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
Document equipment upon arrival: make, model, serial number, equipment number, building served, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.
Provide effective and efficient solutions to customers' needs/demands.
Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, estimating, supervisors and management.
Travel to job sites and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.
Be available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service the emergency needs of our customers.
Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form.
Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
Work within a field service software app and be able to navigate through basic computer skills.
Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.

Boiler and steam heating experience

Certification Required:

Must have clear background, Drug free, and clear driving record.
Must be very dependable and punctual.
Must be able to work well in a with a team setting.
Knowledgeable of Industrial HVAC Equipment such as DX, Water Cooled Chill Water, Air Pressurization and Scrubber Systems as well as Energy management controls both Pneumatic and Digital Controls.
Knowledge of Industrial safety requirements, rules, and regulations.
Must be flexible to work various work schedules driven by customer demands.
Safety Orientated.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work on DX comfort and process cooling/heating equipment up to 50 tons.
Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure the job is done correctly the first time.
Ability to lift 50lbs, be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavy items (with additional manpower or appropriate lifting devices).
Ability to carry ladders and work from heights.
Ability to read schematics.
Basic computer skills and the ability to work within app-based software.
Work Experience Required:

We are seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join our team!
Position Summary: As an HVAC Service Technician, you'll perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on both residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems (up to 30 tons). This role is ideal for a technician with a strong foundation in residential HVAC who is ready to expand into commercial service.
Schedule: 40+ hours per week, Monday to Friday, overtime as needed
Pay Scale: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour, plus spiffs and bonuses

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician. This position will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical inspection, start-up maintenance on the equipment we sell. This is a full-time opportunity for an energetic go-getter. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented and work well with others. Position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Service Coordinators and customers.
Responsibilities
Performs electrical and mechanical inspection and maintenance on equipment to ensure peak performance
Perform specific preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment
Uses experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements
Ability to interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location and operation of the system(s)
Represents the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors and owners
Advises owner/representative of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken
Suggest additional services that are beneficial to customer
Works in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
Submits required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner
Must work in a safe manner on a daily basis and ensure that all safety measures are taken at all times
Performs other duties as assigned
Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must have valid driver's license with good driving record
Must have current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training plus 5+ years' experience working as a Service Technician in a commercial environment
Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
Electrical knowledge required and EPA Certification Preferred (i.e. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.)
Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.
Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance requirements of multiple and varied duties

Fifteen (15) years minimum overall HVAC experience.
Five (5) years of experience in a heavy commercial or industrial setting.
Proficient diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
Chiller troubleshooting and repair experience is highly desired.
It is important that you can work both independently and in a group setting with others.
Must be willing to work in both commercial and industrial locations.
You will service both standard HVAC systems and chillers in a commercial and/or industrial setting. You will work primarily outside of a plant on various commercial or manufacturing sites and provide periodic temporary backup and support to our existing industrial plant accounts for short-term projects and overflow support.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum fifteen (15) years of HVAC experience, five (5) years in a commercial/industrial setting, with some chiller experience.
Ability to work full-time Monday - Friday including some overtime.
Ability to occasionally fulfill an on-call schedule.
Must be able to pass drug test (alcohol, urine, and hair-follicle) including pre-hire, annual, for-cause, and random testing.
Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle record check.
Must be able to complete and pass all safety training.
EPA Card.
