1912

Then in 1912, they moved to Denmark, Wisconsin, to take advantage of the railroad that had built there.

1956

When the facility opened on May 13, 1956, 66 children with developmental disabilities under the age of 16 were enrolled in the program.

1958

In 1958, State legislation was passed into law requiring public school systems to provide for the education of children with developmental disabilities until they reach the age of 16.

1979

In the fall of 1979 David M. Harris founded Harris Enterprise Corporation.

1984

Incorporated in 1984 and with the assistance of two employees, David began to construct and sell retail store fixtures to G. Fox & Co., later known as Filenes.

1990

In 1990 the Company relocated to Colonial Road in Manchester, CT. and shortly thereafter changed its name to Harris Enterprise Corporation.

1991

Custom Wood purchased their current location, which offers one of the finest kitchen and bath showrooms in the state of New Jersey, in 1991.

1995

In 1995, the Reif family established Danlee Wood Products and built the original 3,200 sq ft production facility in Forreston, IL where they started their humble business with 3 employees.

1998

In 1998, with the design services of Bligh Graphics of Simsbury, CT. David began marketing the Company with the name “Harris Woodworking”, a division of Harris Enterprise Corporation.

2000

In 2000, they expanded the size of the building to support the growing demand for custom woodwork.

2002

Excelsior Wood Products, LLC has been manufacturing custom wood products since 2002.

2004

In 2004 David sold his successful Company to other owners and was initially retained to run the day to day operations during the transition period.

2005

In December of 2005 Parkerville Wood Products, Inc. was formed by David Harris with the goal of creating a unique specialty lumber, supply and manufacturing wood products business.

2014

In January of 2014 Hank & Peggy decided to hang up their tape measures and Rusty and Eric took over Custom Wood.

2017

After nearly two decades of business partnership with his son Dan, Lee Reif passed away in 2017.
