    About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Safety & Quality Manager to lead plant-wide initiatives that ensure safe operations, high-quality output, and strong process discipline. This role plays a critical part in shaping a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and proactive risk reduction across the facility. You will partner closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to strengthen safety behaviors, reduce operational risks, and reinforce quality standards throughout all stages of manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Safety Leadership Champion a safety-first culture through coaching, training, and daily engagement with floor teams. Conduct regular facility inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory safety expectations. Lead or support emergency preparedness planning, safety observations, and behavior-based safety initiatives. Quality Management Oversee plant-level quality systems, documentation, and standard operating procedures. Monitor product quality trends, customer feedback, and internal data to proactively address quality risks. Lead root-cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process control, testing standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Continuous Improvement Drive waste reduction, defect reduction, and efficiency improvement efforts across operations. Facilitate structured problem-solving activities (e.g., root cause analysis, process stabilization). Support team members through coaching and development to enhance quality and safety performance. Lean experience is a plus. Team Collaboration & Leadership Partner with supervisors and operators to ensure consistent adherence to plant policies and quality/safety expectations. Provide training on safety practices, quality procedures, and operational standards. Contribute to daily production meetings, audits, and cross-functional projects. Qualifications Bachelor's degree Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required. Background in safety, quality, or combined operational roles with demonstrated leadership on the plant floor. Familiarity with regulatory or industry compliance requirements. Strong communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills. Ability to engage and influence employees at all levels. Gear Lab The Gear lab is responsible for successful production of prototype gears for Dana's axle assemblies. * Operate gear production equipment and perform tooling change overs. * Collect data and analyze gear dimensions to make necessary machine adjustments * Opportunity to learn about gear production. Job Duties: Students may be involved in one or many of the following: Research the viability of a new program or initiative; compile and present statistics. Clean up, edit and update a database. Conduct a failure analysis and investigation. Evaluate and improve efficiency, streamline programs, or cut costs. Perform a study or survey; analyze and present results. Compile employee manuals or develop process directions for tasks. Conduct a cost benefit analysis to upgrade on a specific material/machine. Design tooling or ground support equipment. Work on a continuous improvement project resulting in a measurable improvement. Carries out other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): Completion of two years of education in engineering related curriculum Project Management Experience with CAD and simulation software Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S Principles Lean Green Belt Certification preferred Project Experience in manufacturing setting preferred The ability to read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints. The ability to follow both written and verbal instructions. The ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance. The ability to sit for extended periods of time.     RESPONSIBILITIES: Knock out ceramic from foundry molds with hammer. Verification of parts to paper work. Alloy type test using X-ray spectrometer. Rough and precision cut of castings using abrasive cut-off saw. Trim parts using abrasive cut-off saw. Ensure proper placement of alloy for revert. Ensure proper paper work is with foundry cast molds prior to Knock-Out. Perform other duties as assigned. Record all work performed in Lot Control. Keep the work area in a clean, orderly and safe working condition. Follow all safety rules. Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Perform all other duties assigned by supervision. CERTIFICATION OF CUT-OFF: 90 days of continuous training required. Know all procedures. All training documents must be completed and approved before receiving wage increase. QUALIFICATIONS: Pay close attention to detail. Must have a good attendance record. No written or higher warnings for quality or attendance. Must show ability to follow detailed procedures reliably. Be able to meet daily production goals. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to be self-directed and motivated. Capable of handling multiple tasks. Demonstrate proficiency of applicable procedure instructions.
