Performs research; collects, maintains, and analyzes sales information from various internal and external data sources; and uses the data to problem solve and guide our US/Canada Account sales team on which accounts/meetings to target.
**Education and Experience**
+ 4+ years' experience in analytics, finance, mathematics, or hospitality-related discipline, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance AND
+ 4-year degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, or related major OR
+ 6+ years of relevant professional experience in related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance
+ Demonstrated ability to problem solve and provide insightful analysis by transforming data into actionable information to help guide business decisions.
+ Experience partnering with stakeholders to understand business dynamics and incorporate into analytical insights
**CORE WORK ACTIVITIES**
+ Mines the internet and web applications to search for meetings and events information that may be valuable for generating demand
+ Builds relationships with DOSMs and US/Canada Account Sales leaders to gain understanding of the types of meetings and events that have stayed at a Marriott hotel in the past or that have stayed at a competitor hotel
+ Research companies that are building new office space and require travel for their employees or vendors
**Collect, Maintain, and Analyze Sales Information**
+ Collect data from various sources such as CI/TY, Knowland Readerboard, 10 Times, internet website, and human knowledge from sales leaders
+ Consolidate data into a meetings database that will grow and change over time
+ Qualify and make sense of data output from internet scraping tool
+ Analyze the price limit, food and beverage spend, industry type, booking pattern, arrival pattern, and cities booked of the meetings maintained in the meetings data
+ Identify companies that are starting to expand and require more meetings/travel
**Uses Data to Problem Solve and Guide Sales Leaders in Decision Making**
+ Analyzes trends of accounts such as whether the customer only holds an event in a certain quarter or whether the customer only stays in a certain city vs. rotating to different cities
+ Categorize meetings as meetings that we are deployed to; meetings that we used to be deployed to but haven't won recently; and meetings that we have never won
+ Assesses why a meeting or event is staying with a competitor and not with Marriott and how we can win the meeting
+ Partners with DOSMs and US/Canada Account Sales leaders to communicate findings in a clear and concise way
+ Informs, updates, and provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person in a timely manner.
+ Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
