• Ensure 100% accuracy and timely processing of shipments.

• Understanding of the HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule)

• File Customs entries by following Client's S.O.P. & follow U.S. Customs regulations.

• File PGA data to ensure timely release of cargo.

• Be able to identify Free Trade Agreements (F.T.A.) & how to claim at the time of entry if needed.

• Be able to understand the different country of origins and foreign currency.

• Knowledge on terms of sale on the commercial invoice and what is allowed to be deducted or added to the commercial invoice value.

• Monitor to ensure the release of Customs and all PGA Releases.

Job Summary

We are seeking an Experienced International Customs Specialist to communicate directly with international clients, key domestic clients, and U.S. Customs to ensure entry of imported goods into the United States. You are a key member of the Import Customs Brokerage team as the trusted liaison between our clients and U.S. Customs. You will act as an expert in compliance procedures and applicable customs laws including robust knowledge of current governmental events related to trade and tariffs.

The ideal candidate is highly detailed and organized, enjoys the challenge of multi-tasking and communicating with international clients, and is greatly interested in international trade affairs.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Communicate with vendors, government agencies, and key accounts

· Create and file Import Customs entries to clear goods

· Arrange transport of goods and track cargo from end-to-end of shipment process

· Process freight charges

· Classify commodities by HTS in accordance to laws and regulations

· Prepare and process import documentation

Must-Haves

· 2-3 years of entry writer experience

· Experience in logistics industry

· Strong ability to multi-task in detailed data sets

· Strong Customer Service Skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

· Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, primarily including Excel

· Familiarity with Outlook a plus

· Strong interest in learning: US Customs tariff laws, import regulations, FDA, USDA, Prior Notice and ISF filings, auditing international documentation to ensure compliance of governmental rules and regulations.
