Dr. Singh was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of PerkinElmer effective December 30, 2019, and appointed to our board of directors in August 2019. Previously Dr. Singh was the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company since January 2019. Dr. Singh joined PerkinElmer as the President of our Diagnostics business in May 2014. He was elected Senior Vice President in September 2016 and Executive Vice President in March 2018. Before that, Dr. Singh held senior executive level roles in strategy, business development and mergers & acquisitions at both GE Healthcare and Philips Healthcare. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles of increasing responsibility at DuPont Pharmaceuticals and subsequently Bristol-Myers Squibb Medical Imaging, which included managing the Asia Pacific and Middle East region. Dr. Singh holds a doctoral degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University. His research work has resulted in several issued patents and publications in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Singh has more than twenty-five years of leadership experience with global innovators in healthcare technology. He has spent the most recent six years developing unique insights into both our business and our opportunities for continued growth. Dr. Singh brings to our board a detailed understanding of the core technologies that we utilize and the operational strategies available to us as we continue to focus on innovating for a healthier world.
