Identifies all cases with abnormal findings for pathologist review, recording all findings in the EMR to produce accurate reports. Processes both gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens. Works with pathologists and other members of the healthcare and laboratory team to provide high quality laboratory results while upholding the Stormont Vail Tenets of compassion, patient safety and privacy, and improving the health of our community. Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Specializing in cytotechnology. Required Skills and Abilities Follows all applicable OSHA guidelines. Follows all hospital and departmental safety procedures. (Required proficiency) Proficient in scientific principles, procedures, and protocols. Assures that workload recording is accurate and complete so that screening limits are not exceeded. Assists in maintaining adequate supplies and equipment for the department. Assists with teaching, training and mentoring cytotechnologist and medical lab assistant interns and trainees. Assists department leadership in development of budget, policies, procedures, work standards, and goal-setting. The Quality Control Production Analyst assists in the evaluation of the inspectors' field performance.
