    We have an immediate opportunity for a Quality Specialist with SQF, HACCP, Food Safety program. CI knowledge and experience. In this function you will inspect manufactured products to ensure compliance and conformance to Quality, assist with the SQF/Food Safety and CI Programs and provide back up to the Quality Lead. RESPONSIBILITIES • Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines • Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc. • Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required • Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures • Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately • Follow plant safety procedures and guidelines. • Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc. • Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. • Understand and identify Lock-out/Tag-out procedures. • Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately. • Inspects products for defects as described by quality standards. The focus is on distinguishing major/minor defect levels within regards to product fit/form/function. • Identifies and determines products as Pass or Fail based on Quality standards. • Alerts and advises supervision of potentially defective products. • Provides Pass/No-Pass samples for machine sample boards; provides sample parts for shift production meetings. • Communicates daily with supervision to stay informed of current quality concerns. • Conducts product quality audits per shift per machine; quality audits are performed in accordance with procedures. • Assists with ongoing re-inspections. • Departmental instructions may exist in which case expectations will be described in further detail. • Works with manufacturing to improve efficiency of inspection duties. • Completes the following audit actions in all areas of the plant: o Changeover & setup approvals o First piece/last piece approvals o Process control checks. o GMP/Food Safety audits o 5S (if applicable) • Assist with SQF Procedures (development, document review, forms, updating and training). • Assist with SQF Internal Audits and customer complaints and investigations. • Assist with the review of CAPAs. • Lead Continuous Improvement, A3 projects. • Completes Sample Request processing as directed. • Enters data accurately into Excel or SPC software. • Perform quality testing using laboratory measuring equipment. • Performs gauge calibration. • Leads a functional team in inspection techniques or improvements as needed. • Supports the Plant's Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices. • Support company Food Safety efforts through commitment and compliance with SQF standard practices and policies. • Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP's • Acts as backup for Quality Lead as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned. Feeder is also to be aware of signals from operator or catcher to stop and start machine. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc...). Performed during make ready. Catcher: Removes the finished folded cartons from the press and packs them into cases. Responsibility that appropriate carton is being packed: Done by checking item and job number on carton with job label being used. Responsibility that only quality products are packed.     D&W Fine Pack has an immediate opportunity for a Tooling Tech at our Lake Zurich IL facility. In this function you will be responsible for properly running dies in our production area, making products that meet or exceed customer's expectations for die preventive maintenance, repairing and troubleshooting dies for the Production Department. RESPONSIBILITIES: Preform preventive die maintenance in a timely manner. Set up and install stamping dies on press machines according to specifications Diagnoses and complete needed repairs to existing dies. Make new parts, grind, mill, lathe, read work orders and die repair sheets. Complete all required documentation Assist other workers with specific tasks as requested Ability to insert/remove molds and/or dies Adjust and calibrate dies to ensure proper alignment and operation Conduct 1 st piece runs and troubleshoot issues to optimize die performance Mold and trim die preparation Inspect and/or clean molds and return them to storage racks Perform tool changes and final adjustments Perform basic and intermediate troubleshooting and adjustment of processing problems Ability to fabricate minor parts Support the Plant's Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices Follow all safety and sanitation procedures. Actively participate in the company behavior-based safety process. Observe all safety requirements including personal protective equipment (PPE). Understand and identifies Lockout/tag out procedures QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Certification Ability to communicate and understand verbal instructions, read and write work orders, read written instructions, and effectively interact with all internal departments. Basic computer skills Forklift certification maybe required Able to work overtime and possibly need to cover second shift as required by business conditions. Available for call-ins. Read blueprints and other necessary documentation. Ability to stand, sit, reach, push, pull, crouch, kneel, climb, suspend, work in standing position for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in very tight spaces.
