Joining our Athletics team, the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach (PT/hourly) will be responsible for the following:
* Contribute to the educational mission of the University by coordinating the instruction of student-athletes in the area of strength & conditioning;
* Assist in planning workouts, conducting workouts, and supervising use of equipment.
* Provides motivation and support for the student-athletes;
* Monitor effectiveness of strength and conditioning programs and activities of intercollegiate varsity athletics in collaboration with the Head Strength and Conditioning

* Follow best-practice industry standards and guidelines regarding exercise technique,

* Follow established emergency action plans for the University's athletic facilities.
* Operates the program under the rules and regulations of the College, the NCAA, and the ECC.
* Assist in ensuring all fitness and sports performance equipment are functioning properly.
* Assist in providing suggested strength and conditioning information to Daemen
University community, including information on proper use of athletic conditioning
equipment as needed.
* Maintains professional credentials by engaging in professional development and
satisfying continuing educational requirements set forth by the respective credentialing
body (e.g. National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Collegiate
Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa)) and or the New York State
Education Department (NYSED) as needed.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Exercise Science, Health or Human Performance or related field
* Masters degree and previous collegiate sports performance experience preferred

DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:
Performing all duties of the Program Director as described in the ARC-PA standards.
Serving as an effective program leader, manager, and administrator.
Setting strategic priorities and managing program implementation aligned with available budget and resources, including developing staffing plans and annual budgets.
Supervising, mentoring, and responding to concerns from the Medical Director, faculty, and staff.
Guiding faculty in curricular revisions and assessment to ensure ongoing compliance with ARC-PA standards and Ithaca College policies and procedures.
Guiding faculty and staff in supporting student advising and success.
Nurturing community relationships, networking with local providers, and fostering partnerships with regional K-12 schools to create pathways to the PA profession.
Using transparent communication and active listening strategies with administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
Assuring that the program is adhering to ARC-PA program accreditation standards, including preparing and submitting all required reports and documentation, and Ithaca College policies and procedures.
Leading and/or participating in faculty and staff recruitment, development, and evaluation.
Providing guidance on student recruitment, selection, and retention.
Maintaining connections with appropriate national physician assistant-related associations.
Collaborating on interprofessional and interdisciplinary initiatives within the School of HSHP and across the college.
Attending regular leadership team meetings within the School of HSHP and other meetings at the College and within the community as requested.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited PA program.
Current NCCPA certification with licensure in the State of New York within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education.
Minimum of 2 years of full-time clinical experience.
Understanding of PA education, standards of accreditation through Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and the role of PAs in delivering high quality health care.
Preferred Qualifications:

About the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program:
The Ithaca College Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program is a 27-month residential program enrolling a cohort of 50 learners each year. Its mission is to educate, engage and empower physician assistants to achieve excellence through medical theory, clinical practice, and exemplary professional performance in communities that are historically marginalized, underserved, health professional shortage areas, and rural. The program is currently provisionally accredited by ARC-PA with a site visit scheduled for Fall 2025.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Provide academic and professional leadership in supporting faculty, co-curricular advisers and the Park-designated career engagement specialist in the development and modification of curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities; conduct benchmarking and research on communications content and new pedagogical methods and instructional technologies and identify and coordinate potential new degree and non-degree offerings.
* Work in collaboration with faculty and chairs to prepare new degree and new course proposals and modifications of curricula for both undergraduate and graduate programs and for non-credit professional instruction. Coordinate and monitor reviews through appropriate bodies such as the New York State Department of Education and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Serve on curriculum-related committees at the School and all-College level.
* Provide leadership and support for assessment of curricular and co-curricular learning opportunities within the School, ensuring compliance with required assessment standards and periodic external reviews and accreditation.
* Help ensure compliance with policies and procedures, research issues, analyze institutional data, prepare reports, make recommendations for changes in policy or procedures, and handle confidential problems that arise at the school.
* Assist in the management of faculty recruitment, hiring, and development. Mentor and support faculty development, supervision and evaluation for teaching excellence, scholarly or creative activity and professionalism.
* Assist the Dean in faculty promotion, tenure and sabbatical evaluations, compiling reports and analyzing evaluation data as needed.

* Play a key role in student success through recruitment, enrollment, retention and academic support. Liaison with the Academic Support Center and Admissions/Enrollment Management.

Qualifications:
Master's degree in communications, or related field with successful college teaching experience, demonstrating excellence in the classroom. A minimum of 5 years administrative experience in a college or university environment with supervisory responsibilities. Demonstrated collegial style of leadership, plus ability to assess critical situations and carry out appropriate actions on behalf of the college. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to cultivate an inclusive, diverse and welcoming environment. Proven experience in the development, administration, and assessment of college curricula and United States accreditation procedures and policies. Work Environment:
