Specifically, the Machine Operator II is responsible for programming and operating industrial equipment and machinery such as a laser machine, press brake, structural steel rolling machine, CNC milling machine etc. in accordance with company procedures. Operator will follow a blueprint to program the machine. Operator will be capable of placing production part into machine, cycle the equipment and retrieve the part. Employee is responsible for visually inspecting parts. Other Responsibilities: Setting up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order Maintaining and cleaning machines before and after each shift Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running Troubleshoot problems during machine operation Ensure stocks/inventory of needed materials are ready and available at all times Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area Properly use personal protective equipment when required Notify supervisors/leads of problems that may occur with equipment or part quality Other activities may include but are not limited to: cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding, prepping kits and lay-outs to meet customer specifications Maintain regular attendance - have reliable means of transportation Perform other tasks as assigned Qualifications Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable. Must have advanced blueprint reading knowledge and the ability to follow the work order instructions Familiar with AutoCAD 2D desirable Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available) Must be able to pass a background check and pre employment drug test Team player - must be able to work with others assigned to machine Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals Attentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issues Adaptable to changing demands Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shift Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement. Non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool. In the winter it is heated.
