Position Summary As a Lead Automation Technician, you'll take on a leadership role in troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of material handling systems. With advanced experience and expertise, you'll take on complex projects, develop training programs, and drive standardization initiatives. This role encompasses Mechanical, Controls, and the ability to learn rudimentary Software used to operate the Material handling system to ensure the system operates optimally while delegating tasks to work colleagues. Responsibilities Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings. Create and review Standard Operating Procedure SOP documents. Follows and guides small preventive maintenance programs. Lead complex troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis. Lead training programs for Automation Technicians I and II. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology integration. Conduct audits and inspections for compliance and quality assurance. Analyze performance data and identify process optimization opportunities. Conducts advanced Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI. Leads change management process and develops complex PLC ladder code changes using Rockwell RSLogix family IDE's (5000 preferred). Utilizes AutoCAD proficiently for reviewing, developing, and maintaining electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings. Documents and communicates control system and equipment configuration changes. Completes advanced safety training and ensures compliance with safety programs, policies, and procedures. On-call availability as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; prefer a 2-year professional electrical training degree or bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 6 years of extensive experience in Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and Control View HMI. At least 6 years of experience with AutoCAD for control layout design and schematics. Proven track record of training others and developing comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for complex tasks 4-5 years working in material handling industry or equivalent industry experience Advanced experience with CMMS platform and PLC's, with basic Software knowledg Working knowledge of handheld and power tools Advanced knowledge of PLCs and motor control Advanced ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls defects Advanced ability to interpret both mechanical and electric drawings and schematics Ability to maintain and troubleshoot all material handling equipment and components Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented Knowledge of safe industrial work practices Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language

Completes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges; Mentors, trains and assigns tasks of other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities in the absence of Senior Technicians and/or Supervisors. Responsibilities Completes basic maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams; shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical and mechanical adjustments. Diagnoses equipment failures under the guidance of senior personnel; ensures equipment is running safely. Takes direction and seeks the guidance and expertise of senior level personnel and accepts training and mentoring from them. Provides direction, guidance and expertise to personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities, conducts training and mentoring responsibilities; may act as lead in the absence of Sr. Technicians and/or supervisors Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager's instructions. Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment. Follows and complies with all company and federally established policies and procedures; completes all applicable training courses assigned by the company Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures. Performs additional duties/assignments as may be required by management. Assists with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing. Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company. Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures. Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time. Qualifications High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Minimum 2 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous work experience in an Airport environment. Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings. Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment. HVAC, welding/ brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills Minimum 2 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience 3+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background minimum 1 year experience with PLC logic and/or Industrial HVAC certification Advanced computer skills.
