1910

By 1910, the Daily Press had a circulation of 1,700--still, though, less than the afternoon daily, the Times-Herald, born of a merger between two papers.

1913

In 1913 publisher of Daily press combined with publisher of Times-herald and published morning eds. called: Daily press; evening eds. called: Times-herald.

1935

The Silver City Daily Press was born June 24, 1935, when the owners of the Silver City Independent, our weekly predecessor, determined it was time to grow — along with Grant County, its people and its advertisers.

1956

Includes supplements; a combined supplement for the Daily Press and the Times-herald (Newport News, Va.) was included in July, 1956; and on Oct.

1986

The Bottom family continued to own the paper until 1986 when it was sold to the Chicago-based Tribune Company.

2001

2014

In April, 2014, Christina Ely passed the responsibility of chronicling the daily life of Grant County to the newly-formed Silver City Independent Publishing Company, LLC, which is Grant County-owned and operated by Nickolas Seibel.
