Responsibilities
May work in one of the following areas: Congo Expedition, Heart of Africa, Australia Region, North America/My Barn Region, Asia Quest and Elephants, Shores Region, Animal Programs, Animal Encounters Village, and Stingray Bay
May be responsible for care and handling of select animals and upkeep of their facilities within acceptable safety protocols.
May clean animal enclosures (e.g. rakes, hoses, sweeps, disinfects, removes manure, washes windows, building clean up).
Assists in habitat maintenance (e.g. mowing, weed whipping, pruning, raking leaves).
Assists in maintaining public viewing areas on Zoo grounds and buildings (e.g. picks up litter, sweeps, mops floors, cleans tables, benches, restrooms, walkways and windows).
May assist in operating contact areas under the guidance of keeper staff.
May prepare animal diets/drinks.
Observes animals and reports any behavioral changes to Animal Staff and Vets.
May deliver educational interpretation to the general public regarding animal behavior, habitat and conservation issues.
Assists in maintaining records and monitors health status of animals.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year completed towards a bachelor's degree preferred.
BS in Zoology or related field preferred.
New-Hire TB test required.
Valid driver's license with good driving record required.
Prior animal care experience preferred.
Must be outgoing and willing to talk to many different types of people.
Excellent public speaking skills.
Able to perform heavy physical work for extended periods of time.
Able to balance multiple assignments successfully.
Able to work in varied weather conditions (i.e. extreme heat, cold, snow or rain).
Able to work in humid and/or dusty environments.
Able to work with a variety of cleaning chemicals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to provide excellent guest service by positively interacting with guests and upholding the Make it G.R.E.A.T. standards required.
Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior.
Able to work in a team and/or individually with minimum supervision.
Able and willing to rotate time within and outside of assigned region among animal care and landscaping/grounds maintenance, ride and environmental interpretation activities.
Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance (see uniform guidelines in the employee handbook).
Able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.

+ Follow all dairy operations and merchandising programs. + Orders all dairy products. + Receives and checks all dairy deliveries upon arrival to see that all merchandise is in good condition and that the correct quantity and weight are received.
+ Sees that all dairy products are properly prepared, handled, stocked, and merchandised or stored and that all dairy products in the backroom storage are checked daily.
+ Plans special promotions and displays with the Store Manager.
+ Sees that all dairy merchandise is rotated according to code dating policies.
+ Is responsible for signage, gross profit, and inventory control.
+ Determines Manager's Specials consistent with quality and quantity sells items at minimum loss. Keeps the Store Director informed of all markdowns and losses.
+ Keeps the dairy department fixtures, equipment, and area free from accident hazards at all times.
+ Handles all store property and equipment in such a manner as to secure maximum use.
+ Bookkeeping, including all paper work and record keeping.
+ Properly trains personnel assigned to the dairy department.
+ Maintains a high level of product knowledge and merchandising ability to accomplish dairy department goals.
+ Maintains courteous and friendly customer relations.
+ Inventory control; conduct quarterly physical inventory or inventory as assigned
+ Maintain proper dating standard for all product on display for retail sale
**Minor duties:**
+ Maintain proper temperature in cases.
+ Operate ordering machine.
+ Operate pallet jacks and hydraulic baler.
+ Perform sweeping and cleaning functions.
+ Maintain sanitation standards in cooler and on sales floor
+ Responsible for case cleaning.
+ Operate telephones and intercoms and practice proper telephone etiquette.
+ Follow and implement all company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
+ Performs other duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
+ Read and write.
+ Add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
+ Work in temperatures of 32 to 40 degrees for up to 20 minutes repeatedly during a shift.
+ Follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Provide verbal and physical assistance to customers.
+ Lift, move, and stack up to 50 pounds.
+ Pull or push wheeled vehicles weighing up to 1,000 pounds.
+ Reach and stock product up to 6 ft. high.
+ Must possess basic computer skills
