Summary:
Under the direction of the MaintenanceSupervisor, the Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains production equipment and buildings to company standard.
Job Duties:
The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
PC to PLC program maintenance, troubleshooting, and control devices
Effectively use hand tools and electric or pneumatic power tools
Perform preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on equipment
Read electrical schematics
Diagnose cause of electrical and mechanical failure of operational equipment
Set up new equipment lines and equipment changeovers
Train production and other maintenance personnel
Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete projects on due dates
Work on electrical systems up to 480 VAC
Strong knowledge in motor control circuits, automated valves and process controls
Ensure that all processes are followed
Complete daily work order log
Complete PM's as assigned
Follow parts check out procedure
Follow all GMP standards
All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Electrical Maintenance preferred or High School Diploma plus at least three years of related experience
Strong electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting skills
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
Experience with a Windows-based computer system (Microsoft Office programs and Maintenance Work Order software)
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as blueprints, schematics, work orders, etc.
Ability to write standard documentation and effectively present information to other employees
This position may require forklift certification

Role and Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the hands-on repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment. Knowledge and experience of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems required. This role ensures that production equipment runs efficiently and safely to support daily manufacturing operations. Responsibilities will include:
Perform routine maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance (PM) assigned.
Troubleshoot and repair production machinery and facility systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC).
Respond promptly to maintenance calls during assigned shifts to minimize equipment downtime.
Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.

Job Requirements
2+ years of experience in maintenance within a food manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting and repair skills.
Familiarity with PM programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to work safely with power tools from 24 to 480 amps.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Good communication skills; able to report issues and updates clearly.
Ability to read, write and speak English or bi-lingual preferred.
Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed.
Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work (standing, kneeling, climbing) for extended periods.

SCHEDULE:
For an improved Work-Life balance, we utilize a 3-2-2, 12-hour schedule. This schedule allows for reduced fatigue, time off and a 3-day weekend every other weekend.

Maintenance Supervisor

Supervise and oversee the activities of maintenance mechanics that perform repairs, installation and maintenance on all equipment in the processing area (bagging machines, conveyors, dryers, sorters, cutters).
Accountabilities:
Work with Manager and Engineering to determine manpower requirements for upcoming projects.
Develop work assignments using knowledge of mechanics capabilities, machines and equipment.
Update and distribute the weekly PM schedules.
Act as a resource, offering on-going assistance to mechanics, monitor job performance and task to help where needed.
Requisition shop materials and supplies then ensure materials received meet established standards.
Perform daily walk through of facility to address any potential maintenance problems.
Conduct new hire trainings, monthly safety tailgate meetings, work area inspections and GMP/ food safety training as required by QA department.
Supervise the startup and shut down of the lines located in the facility.
Plan, schedule, and conduct detailed maintenance and inspections of all commodity areas.
Update and maintain maintenance records.
Assist in the facilities audit process by identifying maintenance requirements.
Monitor annual review/inventory by equipment, department and advise the General Manager of any required changes.
Assist in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Skills Required:
7-10 years maintenance mechanic experience
BS in engineering/ maintenance or certification
Highly proficient in electrical troubleshooting, high voltage and control circuits.
Experience in welding and plumbing helpful.
Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, welding and plumbing
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Good verbal/written communication skills
Prior experience supervising employees
