Operate various packaging equipment, box finished and packaged cheese product. Assist the Packaging Lead Person and Scale Operator as needed and maintain the packaging room to 5S standards to maintain a safe, sanitary and efficient operation.

Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity
Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
Responsible for monitoring and taking corrective actions when necessary for a critical control point as part of the plant HACCP plan
Ensure that all documentation is done correctly and turned in promptly

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Load cheese for packaging machines onto conveyors.
Remove cheese from brine cages.
Stack cheese boxes on pallets neatly, so that the finished goods pallets fit into the cooler racks without damaging.
Construct boxes and pack product in boxes
Remove packaging material from rejected cheese and ready cheese for repackaging.
Inspect product and packaging for foreign material and imperfections. If found, segregate suspect product. Rerun product through metal detector and if unacceptable, document vat number and inform supervisor.
Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to maintain plant equipment.
Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
Assist in other production areas as required.
Assist in training of new personnel.
Minimize water usage and the generation of wastewater within the scope of the position.
Follow all DFA GMP's and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

Responsible for reading and understanding material safety data for chemicals used in packaging and drying process.
Maintain control sheet for packaging parameters/procedures and equipment, simple calculations and computer controls.
Enter information on packaging control sheet for packagingoperation.
Keep the packaging room and control room clean.
Verify accuracy of all information.
Communicate effectively with Superintendent, Dry Yeast Department Manager in plant operations and adherence to, the weekly production schedule.
Communicate effectively with the employees of the Dry yeast department (dryer operators, filter press operator, drying support operator, relief operator, packaging lead operator and operators).
Coordinate daily with the general service for packaging material supply.
Notify maintenance department of equipment problems that cannot be solved independently by written work order requests.
Coordinate daily with maintenance department for equipment PMs, repairs, and equipments availability.
Coordinate with laboratory when tests are needed; deliver samples for testing.
Use a computer for E-mail, Excel spreadsheets and procedures in the Dry Yeast Department.
Input Oracle information as required.
Maintain daily inventory for daily packaging production and cleaning needs with General Services.
Participate in Dry Yeast Department continuous improvement team.
Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Position Summary:
The Packaging Associate is responsible for accurately and efficiently packaging, labeling, and preparing cannabis products for distribution. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all products meet company standards for quality, consistency, and compliance with state regulations. The Packaging Associate will work closely with the Post-Harvest and Quality teams to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all packagingoperations.
Essential Job Functions:
* Perform all packaging and labeling of cannabis products in accordance with Standard Wellness SOPs and state regulatory requirements.
* Operate and maintain packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
* Verify product weights, counts, and labeling accuracy before sealing or final packaging.
* Ensure all products are packaged with required labels and that information is correct and legible.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area, tools, and equipment.
* Track and record all packaging data accurately in required systems or documentation logs.
* Assist with preparing finished goods for shipment, including boxing, sealing, and palletizing.
* Follow all safety, sanitation, and compliance procedures, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Handling Practices (GHP).
* Report any damaged materials, discrepancies, or nonconforming products to the Packaging Manager, Department Lead, or QC Lead.
* Participate in routine training and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
Required:
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Must meet all background and licensing requirements as set forth by the Department of Commerce.
* Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Preferred:
* Previous experience in a production, packaging, or manufacturing environment, preferably within a regulated industry.
* Familiarity with cannabis or other consumable product standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* Basic math and measurement skills.
* Ability to perform repetitive tasks with hands, wrists, and forearms for extended periods.
* Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain compliance with company policies.
* Good computer skills for basic data entry and label printing.
* Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Work Environment:
The employee may be exposed to varying temperatures and conditions in production and agricultural environments. Exposure to agricultural and sanitation chemicals may occur with appropriate PPE. The position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, and repetitive motion.
