As a Class A CDL Driver, you will play a vital role in our operations and contribute to our continued success. Responsibilities: Operate a Class A CDL vehicle to transport grain or other agricultural products and materials from various locations to designated destinations. Ensure safe and efficient loading, transportation, and unloading of products and materials. Follow all local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, and promptly report any maintenance or repair needs to the Trucking Manager. Facilitates routine service on trucks, including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air. Responsible for cleaning the inside of trailers and opening and closing traps on the trailers. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and compliance. Build strong relationships with farmers, customers, and team members through excellent communication and professionalism. Provide exceptional customer service, always ensuring customer satisfaction. When not driving, this position will also assist in the warehouse. Requirements: Valid Class A CDL in good standing with no serious violations, tickets, or accidents in the last five years and no DWI/DUI in the last ten years. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL Driver. Doubles/Triples Endorsement or the ability to obtain the endorsement. Tanker endorsement is a plus. Knowledge of and ability to comply with all local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with farmers, customers, and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working at heights in various weather conditions. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills Commitment to safety and ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols. Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, during peak harvest seasons. Physical Requirements Able to physically lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift with or without assistance. Frequent walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. Standing/working on feet for extended periods and walking across uneven terrain, climbing up and down ladders and stairways Able to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, etc. Frequent exposure to noise and dust Able to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment. Able to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as required. Typical days start at 5am and end early to mid-afternoon (depending on route), with an average of 45-50 hours per week. Route drivers start the morning picking up the packed trailer and follow the delivery route given. At each stop, there will be some building of the loads to take in to the customer which requires attention to detail in reading and scanning delivery tickets, working with the customer on where to place their products, getting required signatures, and developing relationships with these repeat customers. Responsibilities: Accurately, safely, and efficiently deliver merchandise using hand-trucks, ramps and/or lift gates to customers on a predetermined delivery route. May include delivering products up and down stairs and in all types of weather. Operate all working equipment safely and efficiently, including but not limited to hand truck, pallet jack, scanner and printer. Provide the highest level of service and product integrity for every customer by safe and timely delivery of customer orders. Deliver and stack merchandise on customer premises. Accurately record delivery by verifying delivery of items with customers and obtaining proper signatures at the time of delivery. Practice Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines to reduce risks for crashes, injuries and fatalities. Utilize onboard computer to appropriately record mileage, hours of service and maintain driver log to adhere to state and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Complete comprehensive pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and DVIRs. Maintain legal weight limits and distributions. Practice defensive driving skills and proper body mechanics to ensure safe driving and delivering practices. Qualifications: Overall Safe driving record with a current, valid CDL Class-A License is required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be at least 21 years old. Two years foodservice delivery experience preferred. Two years verifiable driving experience preferred. Ability to read/write/record data and perform simple mathematical calculations. Ability to work independently. Build and maintain trusted relationships with all customers by providing face-to-face service with each delivery. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations is required. Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical abilities test is required. Physical Frequent stand/walk during delivery activities. Frequent sitting throughout work shift. Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 65 lbs., rarely up to 100 lbs., 3-4 feet from pallet to hand truck to off load area. Frequent push/pulling frequently up to 175 lbs., and occasionally up to 200 lbs. using both hands/arms, to transport loaded hand truck up/down curbs and stairs. Frequent steering and maneuvering gear controls and clutch to safely drive vehicle. In truck cab, trailer, or customer location 80% of the time, exposure to outdoors during delivery 20% of the time. You don't have a CDL but could get it quickly with some assistance? Then we can help by doing paid on-the-job training where we pair you up with another driver and get you as much hands-on experience as possible so that you can gain the skills to get your CDL and take over your own route! Non-Consecutive Overnight Routes (4 days per week): Start and end the 2 day route at the Aberdeen Warehouse. The first day will start with picking up the loaded trailer and spending significant drive time until reaching your first delivery. At each stop, there will be some building of the loads to take in to the customer which requires attention to detail in reading and scanning delivery tickets, working with the customer on where to place their products, getting required signatures, and developing relationships with these repeat customers. The first day will tend to be a longer day. Will be put up for the night and receive $40 per diem for meals for each overnight stay. The next morning will finish deliveries and make the drive back to Aberdeen. There are two overnight route schedules as described below which average 40+ hours per wee Mon/Tue & Thur/Fri Route Monday: Longer day driving to remote location and making deliveries with overnight stay (start about 3-4am, work 10-12 hrs) Tuesday: Shorter day finishing up deliveries and returning to Aberdeen. (start about 3-5am, work 8-10 hrs) Wednesday: Off Thursday: Longer day driving to remote location and making deliveries with overnight stay (start about 3-4am, work 10-12 hrs) Friday: Shorter day finishing up deliveries and returning to Aberdeen. (start about 3-5am, work 8-10 hrs) Tues/Wed & Fri/Sat Route Monday: Off Tuesday: Longer day driving to remote location and making deliveries with overnight stay (start about 3-4am, work 10-12 hrs) Wednesday: Shorter day finishing up deliveries and returning to Aberdeen. Non-Consecutive Overnight Routes (4 days per week): Start and end the 2 day route at the Aberdeen Warehouse. The first day will start with picking up the loaded trailer and spending significant drive time until reaching your first delivery. At each stop, there will be some building of the loads to take in to the customer which requires attention to detail in reading and scanning delivery tickets, working with the customer on where to place their products, getting required signatures, and developing relationships with these repeat customers. The first day will tend to be a longer day. Will be put up for the night and receive $40 per diem for meals for each overnight stay. The next morning will finish deliveries and make the drive back to Aberdeen. There are two overnight route schedules as described below which average 40+ hours per wee Mon/Tue & Thur/Fri Route Monday: Longer day driving to remote location and making deliveries with overnight stay (start about 3-4am, work 10-12 hrs) Tuesday: Shorter day finishing up deliveries and returning to Aberdeen.
