Donna Johnson has over 30 years of Safety experience and 14 years of service at DART. Currently she serves as the Vice President - Chief Safety Officer, reporting directly to the President/Executive Director, where she manages the agency's operational safety program with the objective of ensuring the protection of DART employees, passengers, property and stakeholders.

She is an accomplished safety leader and has an extensive background in bus/rail safety, operations safety, industrial safety and regulatory compliance. Previously, Johnson manage safety programs at three major corporations (PepsiCo, Coca Cola, and Concentra) and was responsible for ensuring the safety for over 35,000 employees in 20 states under several USDOT operating administrations; FHWA, FMCR, PHMSA, FAA and FTA.

Johnson recently served as Director of Safety for the agency, where she led a team of safety professionals responsible for safeguarding DART's employees, passengers and contractors.

Johnson holds dual professional safety certifications from the World Safety Organization and the US Department of Transportation Safety Institute and is a member of the APTA Safety Committee and the Texas Transit Safety and Security Professional Organization.
