(NYSE: DHI), one of the leading homebuilding companies in the United States. From 1993 to March 2000, he held various executive officer positions at D.R. Horton, including President of the Company. From March 2000 to March 2006, Beckwitt was the owner and Managing Partner of EVP Capital, L.P., a private venture capital and real estate advisory company. From 1986 to 1993, Beckwitt worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Finance Departments at Lehman Brothers, specializing in the homebuilding and building products industries. Prior to that, he worked for various homebuilding and construction companies, including his own. Beckwitt graduated with honors from Claremont McKenna College in 1981. He lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife, Barb, and has two children.
