The Staff Data Engineer is responsible for designing and developing high-quality, scalable data solutions that support business analytics, AI, and enterprise solutions across Danaher. In this senior role, you will play a critical part in assessing and improving data availability and quality across multiple enterprise systems, ensuring our data foundation supports actionable insights and innovation.
This position reports to the Senior Director, Enterprise Data & Analytics Platforms and is part of the Danaher Corporate IT team and will be fully remote with frequent travel to Washington DC and global Danaher sites.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Build and maintain robust pipelines and architectures to meet enterprise-wide analytics and reporting needs, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and performant solutions.
Work in 2-week sprint cycles, iteratively delivering business value and continuously improving data solutions.
Assess and improve data quality - Evaluate data availability and quality across enterprise sources (Oracle EBS, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, and Snowflake) and implement solutions such as improved ETL/ELT processes and data cleansing.
Partner with business stakeholders and Data & Analytics teams across Danaher operating companies to translate requirements into technical specifications and unify data from disparate systems.
Ensure all data engineering solutions align with enterprise governance, security, and compliance standards, including data privacy and access controls.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
10+ years of hands-on experience with data engineering technologies such as SQL, ETL/ELT frameworks, data warehousing platforms (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, Redshift, Snowflake), and programming/scripting languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, PySpark).
Deep expertise in cloud data warehousing, especially with Snowflake, and familiarity with equivalent platforms (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Azure Synapse Analytics).
Hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), leveraging their data storage, integration, and analytics services (such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or AWS S3, AWS Glue).
Strong experience working with data from enterprise systems such as Oracle EBS, SAP ERP, Microsoft Dynamics, and Salesforce CRM, with proven ability to extract, integrate, and model data from these sources.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel to Washington DC and global Danaher sites, up to 10%
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
The Danaher Business System (DBS) or other lean business methodology in Information Technology
Professional certifications such as Snowflake certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core) or cloud/data engineering certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Provides support of applications software through programming, analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions.
