The Innovation Danaher Business Systems Leader is responsible for driving improved outcomes in Growth from Innovation by leveraging Microbiology's Innovation Engine. In this role, you will build organizational capability through effective associate development.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Danaher Business Systems, Microbiology and is part of the Microbiology Operating Company nested in Beckman Coulter Diagnostics located in our Sacramento, CA office and will be an on-site role. This position will function as a key strategic thought leader alongside our VP R&D. At Microbiology, as one of the world's leading ID/AST companies, our vision is to ensure every patient has access to the right antibiotic treatment at the right time.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to:
Champion improved innovation-driven growth across Microbiology.
Ensure the effective application and documentation of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools-along with the DBS expert network-within our Product Lifecycle Process (PLP) and innovation governance structure.
Assess Innovation maturity and identify gaps in our Innovation Engine using key performance indicators (KPIs), guiding them through improvement plans that may include coaching, enhanced DBS tool adoption, and more.
Partner with senior leaders and project teams to leverage DBS to deliver annual IFV objectives, innovation key performance indicators (KPIs), and project level KPIs. This includes the installation and sustainment of high-quality daily management (DM), visual project management (VPM) and problem-solving process (PSP) as needed.
Partner with functional and project leads on the kaizen process including kaizen funnel development, prioritization, resourcing, activation, and execution. Ensure effective sustainment of results and support problem solving as needed to close gaps to targets.
Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching. Augment with additional resources (DBSO, outside resources) where applicable, and improve DBS training and facilitation by pursuing certification in DBS tools for yourself and others, including managing a funnel of experts.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences required; MBA or advanced Engineering degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in engineering and engineering leadership roles.
Proven ability to consistently deliver results while influencing leaders without authority. Including but not limited to coaching leaders at different altitudes while driving change and leveraging change management best practices.
Proven leadership in product development programs, R&D teams, or organizations, with a strong track record of project management and on-time product launches. Previous experience with Product Planning Group (PPG) and experience/understanding the Strategic Innovation Review (SIR) process. Demonstrated success in improving Innovation KPIs.
Minimum of 4 years at Danaher (or spin-off), with a strong passion for DBS and hands-on experience applying DBS principles to product development. Proficiency in DBS fundamentals such as:

The annual salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
