The Senior Engineer, Quality Assurance for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing Quality Engineering support for end-to-end design, software, and hardware development projects. The Senior EHS Officer is responsible for administering Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs for one or more sites including Murrieta and Tustin, CA. The main location is Murrieta, CA. The Environmental Test Technician assists in the creation and execution of written Standard Manufacturing Procedures and detailed Work Instructions to perform inspection, environmental testing and disposition of a variety of thin film coated optics in support of the Optical Coating Department. Primary Duties & Responsibilities In support of and under minimal supervision, the Environmental Test Technician inspects, environmentally tests and dispositions optical thin film coatings on witness coupons in a high-paced production department. This position focuses on the execution, monitoring and detailed inspection of accelerated aging tests performed on thin film coatings to determine pass/fail of product (temperature, humidity, salt fog, adhesion, etc). The optics and associated witness samples for measurement require careful handling and attention to detail as parts in this stage are typically considered finished goods and can be easily damaged if meticulous protocols are not followed. The Optical Coating Tech II supports the manufacturing and production of advanced optical components used in aerospace and defense applications. This role is responsible for the preparation, deposition, and quality assurance of thin-film coatings on optical substrates, following standard operating procedures with direct supervision of tasks. This position will be hired to work on 2nd shift. Process Documentation: Responsible for building and maintaining manufacturing process documentation for use by production personnel in the performance of their jobs. Manufacturing Process documentation includes Work Instructions, Routers, Bills of Materials (BOM's), ECN/ECO documentation, Standard Manufacturing Procedures (SMP), and data collection for the use of process development or End-Item Data Packages. The documentation packages must delineate the required steps in sufficient detail to successfully fabricate and test products as defined by customer and internal specifications.
