Conducts interviews with patients/family members to evaluate coping abilities, dysfunctional adjustments, maladaptive behaviors, functional status. 2. Establishes objectives and develops patient-focused treatment plans to provide disposition and/or referral. Identifies potential barriers, limitations & lack of coping abilities, adjustments, functional status. Evaluates patients for mental disorders. 3. Provides individual, family, group therapy, crisis intervention and psycho-education. 4. Evaluates for child, elder abuse, domestic violence and makes appropriate referrals. Acts as a consultant and/or educator to staff relative to assessment, criteria & referral. 5. Maintains resume information and refers patients & families to agencies for supportive services & concrete resources (financial assistance; housing; transportation; medications) on regular & emergency basis. 6. Mentors and acts as consultant to peers, staff & community. 7. Acts as a liaison for the patients within community (local, state and private agencies). 8. Participates in patient care planning, policy and procedure development, quality performance improvement & projects as assigned by the department manager. 9. Provides coverage for absent (vacation, sick, etc.) social workers in medical/surgical, rehabilitation, women's and children's semi areas, emergency & neonatal unit. 10. Completes hospital and state required documentation & other paperwork & forms. 11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Psychiatry & Behavioral Health at Greenwich Hospital is seeking to employ a full-time clinical psychologist with specialties in evaluation and treatment of adolescent mental health. Psychiatry & Behavioral Health includes hospital-based, ambulatory programming comprising intensive outpatient (IOP) and routine outpatient services for the management of a spectrum of psychiatric conditions, including, but not limited to, depressive, anxiety, trauma-related, and substance use disorders. The clinical psychologist will provide evidence-based and solution-focused treatment, collaborating with other healthcare providers to improve the mental health and quality of life of the young adult. Responsibilities * 1. Conducting diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning for newly referred patients * 2. Provision of individual and group psychotherapy * 3. Collaboration with physicians and other multidisciplinary staff for direct patient care * 4. Collection of outcome data related to clinical care * 5. Engagement in community outreach * 6. Participation in departmental meetings and activities * 7. Participation in training, supervision, and consultation activities * 8. Maintaining charts on all clients in accordance with Quality Assurance policies and procedures Qualifications EDUCATION Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in clinical psychology from an APA-approved graduate program. EXPERIENCE Individuals with experience maintaining a clinical role in a child and adolescent outpatient practice; have been trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT); who embrace a biopsychosocial model of understanding and treating psychiatric illness; and are committed to program development are encouraged to apply. LICENSURE All candidates must be license-eligible in the State of Connecticut. SPECIAL SKILLS Capability of working collaboratively with and around physicians and other healthcare providers; flexibility with schedule and work-place settings; demonstrated commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork; demonstrated cultural competency working with diverse cultures and communities.
