Appropriately analyzes and codes complex inpatient records. Position requires high-level expertise in coding and documentation guidelines, coding clinics and knowledge of MS DRGs, CC/MCC for appropriate reimbursement and compliance. Responsibilities:
1. Performs ICD-10-CM diagnostic and ICD-10 PCS procedural coding to maintain an accurate database & ensure accurate coding at minimum accuracy rate of 95%. 2. Competent in the utilization of an electronic medical record, and computerized coding/abstracting systems. 3. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the impact of coding decisions on revenue cycle, including the ability to assist in appealing payer denials. 9. Responds to all business office questions regarding diagnoses and procedures in a timely manner. 10. May assist as needed in other coding areas. 11. Attends and participates in required hospital education programs in order to maintain and enhance their coding skills and stay abreast of changes in codes, coding guidelines and regulations. 12. Maintains certified coding credentials in accordance with the certified coding requirements and demonstrates annual compliance. 13. Working under the general direction of a coding supervisor, the Facility Inpatient Coder is responsible for the assignment of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes by reviewing all appropriate documentation in accordance with standard coding guidelines. Certifications: CPC, COC, CCS, or CCS-P (Required).
Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in outpatient hospitalist, cardiology, and acute care coding with a strong understanding of documentation and coding guidelines. Not open to training at this time.
Skills: Proficiency in medical terminology, E/M coding, and interpretation of operative reports and medical orders.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Job Description
Rome Health is looking for a per diem OP coder to join the Health Information Management team. This team member will assist with backlogs and coverage during staff PTO.
•Current coding certification required •Three years of experience coding Observation and/or Ambulatory Surgery preferred
•Experience with Clintegrity, Paragon, One Content helpful
•Fully remote after training
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in researching and applying coding rules and guidelines required.
Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have a positive, respectful attitude.

Required Qualifications
