We are located in Danbury, Connecticut, about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County, and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State. Danbury Hospital sees over 70,000 visits to our ER annually, and about 900 trauma cases a year. We have an established 24/7 Acute Care Surgery program that includes surgical ICU coverage. Excellent specialty back up is available. This is a teaching program with surgical residents and medical students. Board certification in general surgery and board certification/eligibility in surgical critical care is required for this position. There is potential for a full-time opportunity in the near future.
