What You Will Do

Required Qualifications & Skills
5 years of PC and console game development experience and shipped a AAA or successful Indie Title, including holding a position of Environment Artist for 3 years.
A portfolio of work that accurately represents your personal and team-based artistic achievements.
Deep technical understanding of materials and shaders in Unreal, with extensive knowledge of current technologies and surfacing techniques.
Strong artistic and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for collaborative development.
Expertise in environmental visual design, including lighting, composition, staging, and architecture.
Proven understanding of environment art creation that supports level design and enhances gameplay.
Ability to craft unique new assets and creatively re-use existing libraries.
Experience developing content using Unreal Engine and/or UEFN (Unreal Editor Fortnite) knowledge of current UE-specific environment creation, lighting, and optimization technologies and techniques.
At least one shipped game or equivalent live service game launch experience.
Familiarity with early game and/or R&D (Research and development).

The hiring range for this remote position is $126,800 to $170,000 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. As a lighting artist, you will collaboration with Leads, Directors, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver outstanding lighting for the open world and cinematics to the next entry into the Fable franchise. You will set up time of day cycles, light environments, cinematics and control the atmosphere and mood for this expansive open world game. You will join a world class team of passionate developers and artists who aim to push real-time visuals to new heights.
This is a contract role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa. We have a hybrid work model in place with a minimum of 3 days a week in studio. Relocation assistance is available if required.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design lighting arrangements for our wide-ranging open-world environments.
Develop atmospheric conditions and time-of-day lighting.
Regulate various weather types and occurrences.
Collaborate with the Lighting Lead and Art Directors to align with visual goals.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Experience with real-time lighting, PBR, and a solid understanding of lighting principles, showcased by an online portfolio.

Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect: California: $100,200 - $140,300 per year. New York State (inclusive of New York City): $87,100 - $122,00 per year. Washington: $100,200 - $140,300 per year. New Jersey: $87,100 - $122,00 per year. British Columbia: $75,700 - $106,000 (CAD) per year. Base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
