Engineering Division
The Engineering Division evaluates permit applications and reviews permit renewals for equipment and operations that emit air pollutants within the Air District's jurisdiction. It provides technical support to other programs and assists businesses, trade associations, agencies, environmental groups, and community members with permitting and compliance issues. The division is responsible for implementing the Air District's Facility Risk Reduction Program to reduce health risks from existing facilities or sources. The position will work on the Air District's Toxic Air Contaminant (TAC) Control Programs, designed to identify, assess, and reduce public exposure to toxic air contaminants. The programs integrate federal, state, and local regulations to:
Monitor and evaluate TAC emissions from permitted facilities through annual emissions inventories and health risk assessments
Implement the Air Toxics New Source Review (NSR) program, requiring preconstruction review and risk assessment for new or modified TAC sources
Operate Facility Risk Reduction Programs, targeting existing facilities to identify, assess, and reduce health risks, especially in communities with disproportionate air quality impacts
Engage with community stakeholders and provide transparent access to emissions data and health risk information through annual reports and online tools

The Applications Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise, process development, and customer support related to industrial machinery. Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize laser cutting parameters for various metals and material thickness.
Conduct machine demonstrations, trials, and proof of concept test for prospective customers.
Troubleshoot cutting quality and process issues.
Provide on-site and remote training to customers on machine operation, maintenance, and process optimization.
Develop and document cutting process databases, application notes, and best practice guides.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Support installation and commissioning at customer sites as needed
Prepare technical documentation, cutting samples, and reports for customer presentations

Position Requirements:

**What You'll Be Doing**
+ Being part of a New Product and Process Development Project Team to ensure Danfoss Product Development Process (PDP) is followed and performing activities in order to provide Project Team with required deliverables
+ Review and agree on Change Requests related activities established for suppliers, engineering and operations before signed by Quality Manager
+ Develop and maintain documentation and tools required by our Quality Management System in an area of responsibility. Assure continuous improvement and standardization (in compliance with IATF 16949 Requirements).
+ Perform Manufacturing Process Audits according to an Audit plan in compliance with customer requirements.

**What We're Looking For**
**Required (basic) qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution
+ 3~5 years of Quality experience required
+ Inspection and testing equipment knowledge and experience.
+ Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications (GD&T), process control plans, PFMEA's, routers, job instructions, standardize work, and basic statistical methods
+ Proficient in AIAG Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC and FMEA)
**Preferred qualifications**
+ ASQ Certification (CQE, CMQ/OE)
+ Six-Sigma Greenbelt certification desired.
