Department Overview
The mission of the Company Financial Planning & Analysis team (CFP&A team) is to deliver enterprise-level forecasting and analysis that provides business insight, drives informed decision making, and establishes clear expectations for near and long-term financial performance. Primary responsibilities of the department include developing the annual earnings forecast; recommending external guidance ranges for equity, core EPS, non-core items; comparing actual results against plan; developing the multi-year financial outlook to establish and articulate long-term financial objectives; and projecting cash flows and future liquidity needs.
Position Summary
Provides analysis and decision support to Senior Finance leadership regarding PG&E's overall financing needs, capital structure, earnings growth, capital and expense trajectories, and cash from operations. Develops long-term financial forecasts leveraging complex financial models, performs complex financial analysis, translates business needs into financial forecasts, and updates and maintains the analytical tools that fosters data-driven decision making. This position requires strong expertise in financial forecasting, financial statement analysis, building and modifying financial models, financial systems knowledge, financial data structure expertise, process analysis, business and regulatory knowledge, deep understanding of the Utility business model, and process improvement.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $ 122,000
California Maximum:$207,000
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and based on business needs.
Job Responsibilities
Develops the Company's long-term enterprise financial plan, including earnings, earnings per share, cash flow, and financial statements.
Draws on broad business, regulatory, and financial experience to provide insights to senior leadership.
Conducts financial analysis on an ad hoc basis. Determines appropriate analytical methods to suit project scope and timeline.
Drives continuous improvement in financial reports and forecasting models and tools. Assures the logic, assumptions, and calculations in the models support the forecast analysis.
Performs year over year, forecast to forecast analysis and updates forecasting processes as necessary.
Uses financial expertise and judgment to identify and maintain key business and model assumptions to be used for financial plan.
Designs clear, transparent and detailed reports to communicate results analytics.
Anticipates business needs to update financials forecasts.
Provides timely and effective resolution of complex analysis.
Leads cross team projects, as required.
Builds and maintains strong working relationships with peers and business partners.
Provides training, coaching and mentoring to team members.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or related discipline; or equivalent work experience
Requires a minimum of eight years of accounting, financial, or business-related experience
Desired:
8 years of relevant experience including Corporate Finance and Treasury
MBA or other advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline
Utility Industry and/or consulting experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, decision-making and critical thinking skills. Excellent project management skills. Effective teamwork and leadership skills.
