Sovah Health company history timeline

2017

Formerly known as Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County, Martinsville united with Danville Regional Medical Center in 2017 to form Sovah Health - a regional delivery healthcare system with two campuses.

2018

Averett received full approval from the Virginia Board of Nursing (VBON) for the BSN program in February, 2018.

2018 – In February, the Sisters of the Third Order of St Francis renamed Presence United Samaritans Medical Center to OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center to honor the legacy of the original founding Sisters of St Elizabeth Hospital.

2019

In Spring, 2019 the University received approval from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to launch the MSN degree program with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialization, and the Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Post-Masters Certificate.

2020

The first MSN students began their classes in January, 2020.
