    * $20,000 Sign-On/Retention Bonus* External candidates only Performs ultrasound examinations which include, 3D & 4D imaging with multiple imaging modalities, including high-risk gynecological/obstetrical examinations/procedures, infertility, and complex ultrasound guided biopsies. DH Offers You: Employees hired to work at least 0.50 FTE (20 hours per week) and their eligible dependents may participate in Dartmouth Health benefit plans on the employee's first day of employment. Medical Insurance: Two medical plans available through Anthem BC/BS: Employees also receive a base employer contribution of 4% of biweekly pay plus a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) that is matched with a Health Savings Account and a PPO Plan that features higher premiums balanced by copays and lower deductibles. Dental Vision Responsibilities Selects equipment and imaging modalities, position and prep, to facilitate optimum diagnostic studies. Operates ultrasonography equipment to perform examination. Evaluates accuracy and quality of scan results. Reviews patient record for prior findings/test results to aid in determining exam completeness. Selects and records preliminary study results. Prepares preliminary reports using department-specific structured reporting system. Takes measurements and labels them. Gathers and communicates ultrasound findings to the physician for interpretation. Consults with Radiologist about unusual scans and need for re-scanning. Performs transducer decontamination and maintains log entries, reporting any discrepancies to the Education Coordinator. Performs duties associated with interventional (biopsy) procedures. Modifies billing fields to reflect the exam being performed. Instructs and oversees students, residents, and physician staff in unit's operations. Maintains Ultrasonography equipment. Recognizes malfunctions and/or need for servicing. Ensures quality control procedures are maintained and maintains orderliness of ultrasound laboratory. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications * Graduate of accredited program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and registry eligible required. * Minimum one (1) year of experience performing a wide range of general and specialty ultrasound exams preferred. * Experience in high-risk OB, advanced abdominal imaging, complex infertility, and guided biopsies preferred. * Possesses a broad knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology and/or physiological data. * Competent in Ultrasound reporting systems. Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. Responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and QA. Maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, diseases, and new procedures as they evolve.
