Responsibilities of the RAI will include collecting samples from bioreactors at the Wareham Pollution Control Facility and analyzing those samples at the Marine Biological Laboratory to determine the efficacy of the treatment. This is a one-year position with an expected start date of July 1, 2025. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, biology, geoscience or environmental science or engineering and relevant field and research experience. Experience with biogeochemical analyses including nutrient (e.g. ammonia, nitrate, phosphate, total dissolved nitrogen) and elemental analysis (e.g. dissolved and particulate carbon) using of spectrophotometers and automated analyzers is required. Experience evaluating basic wastewater treatment processes (e.g. BOD, coliform counts, etc.) is helpful. Proficiency in using Excel for data entry and processing (graphing, simple statistics) is necessary. The successful applicant should also be comfortable in a wastewater treatment environment and willing to help with preparations for field work such as organizing, cleaning and maintaining gear.
