Internship Program Overview
Our 10-week summer internship program gives students hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while learning about our organization. Interns will connect with leaders, participate in development sessions like self-assessments and business overviews, and take part in networking and community initiatives. The program concludes with a final presentation to leaders and peers, where interns showcase their work, share ideas, and receive valuable feedback.

This is what you will do
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented intern to support our business glossary and data governance initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of pharmaceutical operations and an interest in enterprise data management. You will work with cross-functional teams and leverage tools like Collibra, Databricks, and Excel to ensure terminology consistency and data clarity across the organization.
Over the summer, the intern will gain:
Exposure to enterprise data governance practices in a regulated industry.
Hands-on experience with industry-leading tools like Collibra and Databricks.
Opportunity to contribute to foundational data initiatives that support business excellence and regulatory compliance.
Mentorship and collaboration with experienced professionals in pharmaceutical operations and data management.
You'll be responsible for:
Maintain and update the enterprise business glossary using Collibra, ensuring terms are well-defined, approved, and aligned with business standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders across Regulatory, Clinical, Commercial, and Manufacturing functions to validate glossary entries.
Assist in mapping glossary terms to data assets and metadata within Databricks and other platforms.
Identify and resolve inconsistencies, duplicates, and outdated terminology.
Support the documentation of glossary governance processes and contribute to user guides and training materials.
Use Excel to track glossary changes, manage term inventories, and generate reports for stakeholders.
Participate in data governance meetings and contribute to discussions on terminology standardization and metadata management.
You will need to have
Currently pursuing a degree in Life Sciences, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field with an expected graduation date of Fall 2026 or later.
Basic experience or coursework in data governance, metadata management, or enterprise data platforms.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
We would prefer for you to have
Working knowledge of Collibra, Databricks, and Excel preferred.
Familiarity with pharmaceutical business processes and terminology preferred.
Location
This is a hybrid role based in Cary, NC. Interns are expected to work on-site up to 3 days per week.

Policy Values
Collects all pertinent data from requisite sources and uploads data to proprietary reporting system.
Researches and resolves any issues concerning products, policy values, crediting rates, and other data received.
Identifies product related issues requiring additional attention and works independently to resolve.
BOLI/ICOLI Specific Knowledge & Interpretive Analysis
Understands the differences and similarities between general account, separate account, and hybrid account insurance policies.
Broad understanding of each product for assigned Carriers which includes, but is not limited to, account type (general, hybrid, or separate), mortality treatment, crediting rate methodology, and policy maturity provisions.
Analytical
Reviews and analyzes data received to ensure accuracy and uploads into Client Reporting system.
Develops a process and methodology for regular yield analysis and identification of changes relevant to each of the Carriers' products.
Performs various financial functions and cell manipulation in Microsoft Excel including Internal Rate of Return (IRR), VLOOKUP, etc.
Strong understanding of time value of money concepts.
Solves complex problems and improves processes.
Procedural
Develops and maintains full understanding of day-to-day workflow processes required for assigned Carrier products.
Takes ownership and initiative to ensure internal client expectations are met, including follow through, follow-up and understanding when and how to involve others.
Self-starter working in a fast-paced, demanding environment under tight deadlines.
Works independently to manage assigned workload while working under pressure and can readily adapt to changing priorities.
Supports all administrative activities as needed for assigned Carrier relationships.
Collaborative
Assists in facilitation of communication between the different business lines represented in Ascensus' Newport team for all assigned Carriers.
Works directly with Carrier partners to resolve discrepancies in the values received. Must be able to explain why the data is wrong and what values are expected.
Communicates issues to internal associates and works directly with the Carrier to resolve discrepancies.
Collaborates with others, seeks/conveys information, initiates action, adapts to change and openly shares knowledge with colleagues.
Participates in setting department standards, processes, and procedures.

What We Are Looking For:
As the Summer 2026 Fraud Analyst Intern with Bandwidth Fraud Mitigation team, you will assist with stopping fraud and unwanted traffic across Bandwidth's Network. Being a part of this team, you will understand how we monitor our network for fraudulent and unwanted activity, how we look for new patterns, and how we stop fraudsters in their tracks.
What You'll Do:

Assist in drafting requirements for new tools, methods, and visualizations to improve Fraud Mitigation efficiency.

What You Need:
Working towards a Bachelors or graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Analytics, or other fraud fighting course of study
Interest in preventing, detecting, and stopping fraud and unwanted activities.
Experience with analytics methods to identify trends, statistical significance, and anomalies.
Comfort working large datasets.
Experience using a business intelligence application such as Sigma, Domo, Tableau, or PowerBI to show trends, and present insights that meaningfully help make decisions.
Bonus Points:
