Data Scientist I Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position: * Applies statistics and data science methods to develop insights, prototypes, and decision-support analyses that improve CPE-STRI program performance and modernization outcomes as well as supporting Agile Solution Implementation for providing proactive metrics analysis (e.g. Velocity and Capacity Forecasting) * Works with senior data scientists and engineers to prepare data, run experiments, and communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Key Responsibilities include: * Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and baseline model development. * Develop reproducible notebooks/scripts and document assumptions, methods, and results. * Support model validation, bias checks, and monitoring plans. * Collaborate with engineers to transition prototypes into deployable pipelines where appropriate. Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications): * 5 years of experience with BA/BS (or equivalent). * Experience with Python/R and common statistical/ML libraries; comfortable communicating analytic results. * Familiarity with data ethics, validation, and reproducibility practices. * Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field * Active SECRET strongly desired; ability to obtain and maintain SECRET (or higher) required. Task-order DD254 may require higher clearance (e.g., TS/SCI). Nice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have): * Exposure to operational datasets and performance metrics in DoD or large enterprise contexts * Experience with visualization tools to communicate results * Experience working with protected data and RBAC This is a full-time position paying a base salary, full benefits, and has possible bonus potential based on merit and performance.
