Codocedo at the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary research team investigating the molecular and cellular mechanisms linking traumatic brain injury (TBI) to Alzheimer's disease (AD), with a particular emphasis on microglial immunometabolism, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration. This position is supported through a partnership with Harba Solutions and is designed for a motivated scientist who will play a central role in coordinating and executing experimental studies, supporting team members, and advancing projects that integrate mouse models, molecular biology, imaging, and gene expression analyses. The Research Analyst will contribute directly to ongoing and newly funded projects and will be exposed to cutting-edge approaches in neuroimmunology and neurodegenerative disease research. Department Information The position is housed within the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute at Indiana University School of Medicine. Stark is a highly collaborative environment with strong institutional support, state-of-the-art core facilities, and a vibrant community focused on Alzheimer's disease, traumatic brain injury, and related neurodegenerative disorders. The Codocedo Lab studies how metabolic reprogramming of microglia shapes inflammatory and degenerative outcomes after brain injury and during neurodegenerative disease progression. The lab integrates in vivo mouse models, molecular and cellular assays, immunohistochemistry, gene expression analyses, and advanced imaging approaches, working closely with collaborators across IU and beyond. General Responsibilities Perform complex and detailed laboratory experiments related to TBI and AD research. Conduct in vivo and ex vivo studies using mouse models of neurodegeneration and brain injury. Assist with tissue processing, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and image analysis. Perform molecular biology assays, including RNA and DNA extraction and qPCR. Organize, analyze, and maintain experimental data and research records. Coordinate day-to-day experimental workflows across multiple projects. Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and compliance with safety protocols. Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff, students, and trainees. Contribute to the preparation of figures, reports, and data for publications and grant applications. Participate in lab meetings, project discussions, and collaborative research efforts. Education Required Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, biochemistry, immunology, pathology, or a related biomedical field. Preferred Master's degree in a related scientific discipline. Position Summary The Operations Data Analyst will play a crucial role in applying data analysis and reporting to support operational performance, production scheduling, and process improvements. This position will work closely with operations teams to assist in scheduling tasks as needed, while also owning analytics processes, reporting, and data-driven insights that improve productivity, quality, and throughput. This is an on-site, full-time position in Madison, Indiana. Hybrid or remote work is not available. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Operations Support Work with the Production Planning and Operations teams to assist with scheduling and capacity planning tasks as required. Collaborate with IT/Systems teams to extract and integrate data from multiple sources for analysis. Process Improvement Partner with Operations and Continuous Improvement teams to standardize analytical tools and decision-support systems. Support root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts using data and statistical methods. Recommend actionable strategies to improve throughput, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency. Qualifications Required Qualifications Technical Skills Strong SQL skills: ability to write complex queries, join large datasets, optimize performance, and produce reliable analytical outputs. Advanced Excel expertise: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, macros/VBA a strong plus. Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferred. Comfortable working with large datasets and generating meaningful insights. Production Experience Understanding of production planning, operations workflows, and scheduling concepts - ideally in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
