Description:What You Will Be Doing: The selected candidate will perform data analysis in support of F-35 Sustainment and will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to develop immersive stories that answer business questions. Using proven and sound statistical methods, the analyst draws insights from data, and translates those insights into action that drive business results. Data Analysts are extremely resourceful and able to find novel new data sources to enrich their analysis. They apply mathematical and statistical methods to business and risk management problems.
* Support coordination and development of problem statements, modeling approaches and ground rules and assumptions (GR&A).
* Work under the guidance of a technical lead to perform analysis to establish a performance picture for Sustainment.
* Analyze fielded performance developing solutions to assigned problems for the purpose of forecasting, root cause analysis, evaluation of potential solutions, and assessment of corrective actions.
* Mine, process, and summarize data.
* Analyze large datasets, draw valid inferences and prepare insights in narrative or visual forms, including dashboards.

Basic Qualifications:
* Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance to perform job duties.

About the Role
We're looking for a Data Science Intern to join our team for a 3-month internship focused on uncovering patterns and insights within the billions of mobile and web events that Embrace collects on behalf of its customers' apps. You'll work closely with our product and engineering teams to design and prototype models that detect valuable patterns in user behavior, app performance, and telemetry data-and help translate those ideas into product features that empower web and mobile developers to build better experiences.
This is a hands-on, high-impact internship where you'll gain experience applying modern data science and machine learning techniques to large-scale real-world data.
What You'll Do
Explore, analyze, and visualize large datasets from mobile + web observability data and user session data
Develop statistical measures and applied models to identify meaningful classifications, trends, anomalies, or predictive signals in event data
Partner with Embrace staff (product + data science) to prioritize research projects and translate research insights into potential product features
Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Contribute to documentation, reproducible notebooks, and internal demos
Basic Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
Proficient in Python and familiar with key data science frameworks
E.g. Pandas/Polars, NumPy, scikit-learn, data visualization libraries such as matplotlib or seaborn
Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised, unsupervised, feature engineering, evaluation metrics)
Ability to query and manipulate large datasets using SQL or PySpark
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Curiosity and enthusiasm for working with large-scale, real-world data
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with time-series or event-based data
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Plotly, Dash, Streamlit, or similar)
Familiarity with non-parametric statistics on event-based data
Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow and judgement on when to use them
Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems (e.g., ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, or GCP)
Contributions to open-source projects or independent research projects
Excitement about learning from experienced engineers and seeing your work influence product direction

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Telecommunications Intern, the student will function as a staff member gaining practical knowledge and experience while supporting the organization's mission. The student will participate in project-oriented work to include research, analysis, report generation etc.
Complete assigned project in accordance with directions, timeframes, scope, and budget
Produce a well written, completed project report that outlines steps and conclusions reached.
Maintain a weekly log of activities to include contacts, meetings, references.
Meet with mentor on a weekly basis to review project progress.

Minimum Qualifications
Required:
This Internship program is designed for students who have achieved a GPA of 2.8 and offers them the opportunity to learn and be mentored by a GCI manager/supervisor.
Must be actively enrolled in High School at a junior or senior level or college student.
Must be at least 14 years of age. Must adhere to and meet conditions per Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development Sec.23.10.325 - 23.10.370 and Title 8 Chapter 05 of Child Labor for minors 14 to 15 years of age rules and guidelines.
Preferred:
Familiarity with the telecommunications industry.
Some computer (IT) and/ or cellular phone experience.
Telecom industry specific certifications and/or job specific certifications.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.
Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.

The Plant Conservation Science Internship at Mt. Cuba Center offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in plant research and conservation. This position combines extensive fieldwork (60-80% of time) with office-based research and analysis, providing a comprehensive learning experience in plant conservation. Essential Functions of the Role
This dynamic position combines field research with data analysis and project support. The intern will work closely with the Plant Conservation Science team while developing essential skills and knowledge in plant research and conservation.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Field Research:
Conduct plant surveys and population monitoring during the day in primitive field conditions
Assist with ecological research project data collection
Document plant populations and habitat conditions
Support experimental monitoring in forest and meadow settings
Participate in habitat assessments and threat evaluation
Collect data for ongoing ecological experiments
Office-Based Work:
Support project preparation through species identification research
Assist with data entry and management
