Job Summary: We are seeking a Systems Operations Intern to support the System Operations department by providing technical assistance to engineers and staff. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in power system modeling, data analysis, and control system configuration within a real-world energy operations environment. The selected intern will work with advanced software tools, support system verification processes, and assist in maintaining accurate operational data to ensure safe and reliable transmission of electricity. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in the development of power system models using software such as PSS/e. • Represent transmission and distribution equipment, loads, contingencies, and related elements within system models. • Help maintain network transmission models and databases for Energy Management System (EMS) applications. • Verify power system model accuracy by analyzing simulation results and comparing them to real-world data. • Assist in verifying configurations for Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), communication processors, data concentrators, and meters. • Populate and validate data within the Outage Management System (OMS). • Support engineers, technicians, and analysts in collecting, analyzing, and documenting operational data. • Participate in drafting reports, summaries, and system documentation to support department functions. Requirements: • Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program. • Knowledge or coursework related to electrical systems, integrated system design, or power system modeling preferred. • Experience with software modeling tools (e.g., PSS/e) is a plus. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access). • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. • Business-focused mindset with attention to accuracy and detail.
