Responsibilities


The Charge Capture Specialist II is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant charge capture. He/she works as an educational resource to inform and educate departments on the latest government regulation and requirements, including CMS, the State, and payer regulations related to these charges. The Charge Capture Specialist II also collaborates with cross-campus counterpart(s) to ensure clinical documentation in high risk areas is consistent and complete. The Charge Capture Specialist II collaborates with cross-campus counterpart(s) to ensure consistency in processes in such a manner that each individual can act as a back-up for the other to ensure seamless charge capture in high risk areas when one individual is out.

Duties include charge entry, ensuring correctness of coding in Charge Review, providing ongoing education to charging departments and works payor coding denials.


Qualifications


Required Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution required. Bachelor's degree preferred.



Required Minimum Experience:
Two years collection experience or two years' experience with physician billing.



Required Minimum Certification:
Coding Certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC-A, CPC, CCA, COC, CCS-P or equivalent) required.

Responsible for ensuring all billing charges are captured in an appropriate manner for, but not limited to the areas of delivery, JV hospital locations, transitional care facilities, internal hospital departments, external nursing facilities, and ambulatory surgical centers. Assures compliant charge capture and minimized delays in the billing process by identifying, analyzing, and reconciling billing charges, verification of insurance benefits, and financial clearance for assigned department or area of responsibility
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE


Contacts facility staff to obtain information regarding pre-admissions, admissions, billing, and guarantor information.

Coordinate with hospital admission staff, when necessary, to speak with Insurance/payer representative, to negotiate out of network or single-payment agreements.

Coordinate with hospital admission departments, when necessary, to speak with or meet patients and/or guarantors to obtain copayments or to make payment arrangement for self-pay or non-covered services.

Communicate with providers when necessary to obtain additional information to ensure proper billing and coding.

Gathers, analyzes, verifies information, to include confirmation of Insurance and authorizations for admission and/or procedures required for billing to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

Performs general office duties such as obtaining and scanning records from JV and other facilities to appropriate team members.

Position Summary

Blue River's Field Operations team is seeking several Data Capture Specialists to provide seasonal support onsite at various grower sites throughout the Midwestern and Southern United States. This work will be approximately 3 months in duration and will require a mix of agriculture and basic farming knowledge and basic technology / software experience. Opportunities for continued employment may be available.

This is an exciting opportunity to support field data collection and work with cutting edge agricultural technology while gaining valuable experience within our Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision groups that develop our autonomy programs.

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the daily collection of field data in various grower site locations and assigned regions; traveling between sites for scheduled data capture in partnership with growers and the Field Engineering team
• Provide accurate data collection tracking on a daily basis utilizing software
• Ensure quality image captures are completed as per test plan requirements
• Complete consistent, timely transmission of data to centralized repository for utilization by various Blue River teams
• Effectively manage daily / weekly work schedule accounting for travel time and weather variables to maximize productivity
• Maintain and operate equipment with a high degree of attention to safety and care of equipment
• Represent Blue River and John Deere professionally, exhibiting great customer service and exemplary personal conduct

Required Skills & Experience:

• Experience within agriculture operations operating various types of machinery
• Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs; capable of working in a physically demanding grower site locations for extended periods of time
• Capable of using an interactive touch screen to set values, enter information via keyboard, and follow a series of steps by memory to set the machine requirements
• Familiarity with Windows software for data management; eg. Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work very autonomously; capable of completing work with little to no direct supervision while meeting project timelines

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills; fluent English speaker and writer
• Strong customer support & teamwork skills; able to represent both Blue River Technology and John Deere in a professional manner at all times
• Able to travel extensively between job locations across the U.S.; air travel, vehicle, lodging and meals will be paid or compensated by Blue River
• Available Monday through Saturday for 8-10 hours daily; this includes travel time to and from job sites. Optional Sunday availability may be required as needed.
• Ability and willingness to work various shifts during day and night

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience in capturing / recording imagery data
• Experience or knowledge of precision agriculture equipment
• Experience or knowledge of Computer Vision technology

This position is a full time temporary, non-exempt role and is not eligible for sponsorship or third party employment. Compensation is hourly, and significant overtime opportunities may exist.
