Reports to: Director, People Operations
Job Summary: The Data Associate plays a key role in administering, analyzing, and reporting employee data for various roles and processes within People Operations. This position synthesizes relevant information to support data-driven business decision making on operational and strategic initiatives within People Operations and the Heritage enterprise.
Job Duties:
Assist in creating business intelligence reports and data visualizations for departmental and organizational use, including recruitment, compensation, benefits, and overall operations.
Coordinate payroll preparation with managed payroll services provider to ensure accurate biweekly payroll reporting and completion. Prepare payroll summary and general ledger for Finance and Accounting.
Assist in the preparation of annual compensation projections, budgets, and pay ranges.
Coordinate with our third-party services provider to ensure tax withholdings and compliance for out-of-state employees.
Assist in the preparation of the annual Form 990 compensation reporting. Assist in the preparation of materials for the annual retirement plan audit.
Provide cross-functional support across the People Operations team on an ad-hoc basis, which includes cross-training on multiple platforms and processes.
Seek continuing professional development opportunities, especially on best practices, trends, and new inspiration, by reading publications, attending seminars, and consulting with other industry professionals.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science/Analytics, Business, Accounting, HR, or related fields
Experience: 2-3 years of related experience
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication
Technology: Familiarity with data software, business intelligence platforms, HRIS experience preferred

This role is to provide maternity leave coverage and requires experience with Raiser's Edge NXT. The position is 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling during regular business hours (Monday through Friday). However, the candidate must work one day per week on-site in Washington, DC, either on Monday or Wednesday.
We are seeking a candidate who can start as soon as possible. The maternity leave coverage will continue through at least March 2024.
Position Requirements
Experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge is essential. Experience with Luminate Online and Fundraise Up is a plus.
Strong understanding of database systems and proficiency in data entry.
Primary Responsibilities
Process all gifts, including online donations, in-house checks from national and regional offices, and pledges.
Manage and execute the donor acknowledgment process, including both mail house and in-house letters. This includes pulling files, reviewing for accuracy, creating mail merge documents, and sending them to the appropriate parties. Additionally, manage the 2nd thank-you report list.
Handle tribute gifts by pulling files and sending appropriate documents to families.

stakeholders. OGWDW also provides technical advice and guidance to other Federal agencies in the development of policies and regulations. In order to meet our program oversight responsibilities, EPA must track, analyze and report on the primacy agencies drinking water data.
Job Description
A postgraduate research project training opportunity is currently available at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Water (OW). This appointment will be served with the Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water (OGWDW)/Drinking Water Protection Division (DWPD) in Washington, DC.
The research participant will be trained in performing drinking water data analyses. He/she will be mentored on use of EPA's internet-based SDWIS reporting tool software (********************************************* to conduct analyses.
The participant will also be trained on utilization of software for posting documents, creation of drinking water data system outreach materials documentation and in providing technical support and outreach to EPA Regions, states, multi-state organizations and other stakeholders. Additionally, the participant will be trained to enhance the Internet presence of EPA's drinking water program.
The participant will gain experience with a highly dedicated and accomplished team of data analysts and data system managers, as well as with EPA managers and a variety of data analysis and data system customers. This includes interacting with others through the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators and various EPA working groups.
This program, administered by ORAU through its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, was established through an interagency agreement between DOE and EPA.
Qualifications
Applicants must have received a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, engineering, public policy, physical sciences, computer science, within five years of the desired starting date, or completion of all requirements for the degree should be expected prior to the starting date.
The appointments are full time for one year and may be renewed upon recommendation of EPA and contingent on the availability of funds. The participants will receive a monthly stipend. The annual stipend will range from $44,941 to $54,972 based on educational level. Funding may be made available to reimburse the participants' travel expenses to present the results of their research at scientific conferences. No funding will be made available to cover travel costs for pre-appointment visits, relocation costs, tuition and fees, or health insurance. The participants must show proof of health and medical insurance. The participants do not become EPA employees.
