As a member of the Medical Records team, you may be asked to assist with other duties and tasks in the department. The Medical Records Data Entry Specialist reports to the Medical Records Supervisor. The position is full time, on-site, Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. No weekends. $17.00 - $23.46 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Monitor, upload, process and fax various paper documents for scanning to electronic format within the pre-op queue. Retrieves history and physical, dental and cardiac clearances along with other necessary documentation, and uploads information to portals and share files quickly and accurately. Works closely with surgery center staff to ensure all patient information is available prior to surgery. Produces medical reports and records, correspondence for Physicians, patient information and other administrative material Meets quality and productivity standards and deadlines as established by The Bone & Joint Center. Qualifications Knowledge of medical terminology Medical Records experience highly preferred Work as part of a team and work independently. Maintain confidentiality and sensitive information Strict attention to details Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Documentation skills Listening and verbal communication Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation Proficiency in computer skills including typing speed and accuracy Ability to operate copier/printer/fax Ability to operate telephone with voice mail.
