POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs duties related to daily property tax transactions, including customer service and payment processing; performs duties related to the deposit of funds from County offices and departments; performs related functions as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
A Tax Data Clerk performs routine tasks in the receipt, deposit and accounting of property taxes and County funds under general supervision of the Tax Collection Supervisor.
Essential Functions
* Receives and processes payments by check, cash and electronic methods;
* Accurately maintains and balances cash drawer within assignment limits;
* Properly records property tax payments;
* Prepares documentation for refunds or tax adjustments;
* Prepares daily deposits;
* Greets and assists taxpayers with property tax payments and inquiries;
* Accepts and processes deposits from County departments and Offices;
* Assists the Tax Collection Supervisor in the tax deed and warrant of distraint processes;
* Assists in maintaining county records and documents;
* Assists in opening mail, scanning, and other data entry tasks;
* Assists in verifying taxes are current and the signage of mylar forms for new subdivision recordings.

Mission:
In addition to performing their normal job duties, this operator accomplishes hands-on training in the department. This operator also oversees the qualification and certification of employees and provides feedback to supervision.

1. Train and Certify.
