CACI is seeking a Network Data Technician who under limited direction, assist with and conduct data switch audits, assessments, design, implementation, configuration, and survey for switch installation infrastructure requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Research and provide information on data switches, racks/cabinets, power, and other installation infrastructure considerations. Provide assistance with testing of new and existing data networking circuits. Assist with site surveys and documents current site configuration, equipment rack inventory, and user requirements. Follow engineering installation packages and work with installation team. Assist with switch and other related equipment installation, signal cable installations and cable connections and labeling. Assist with documenting configuration changes at each site. Requires travel to various customer sites (up to 50%). Understand and adhere to all CACI Ethical and Compliance policies. Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to CACI EH&S policies and procedures. Perform other duties as required.



Requirements:


Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Attention to detail is required. Provides assistance in the surveying and designing of the Data Network Willingness to learn Data Networking design and implementation Experience testing telecommunications equipment/systems and following standard test procedures. Experience in using common test equipment (e.g. digital test sets, Optical Power Meter, Cat 5/6 test set, Multi-Meter). Proficiency in Microsoft Visio

• Perform all associated installation, maintenance, and testing on private line and special circuit equipment, digital access cross-connect systems, T-carrier, fiber optic terminal, and multiplexer equipment.
• Install, align, and maintain line treatment equipment associated with data and analog circuits. Installation and maintenance of central office and customer premise equipment to include but not limited to: WAN/LAN Ethernet switches, routers, servers and VTC equipment.
• Perform all line conditioning testing; along with end-to0end tests for installation of data transport equipment from the Central Office to customer premise, utilizing a variety of basic and complex test equipment, and switch and system-based testing facilities to ensure proper installation and testing of new systems.
• Coordinate installation activities with all customers and departments to include manufacturers if required to a successful completion. Make cross-connect changes and re-arrangement on MDF's, digital cross connect panels, and fiber distribution frames as required. Interpretation of engineering specifications, schematics, and drawings associated with AK Communications network and CPE installations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• You must have a high school diploma and must possess and maintain a driver's license. Network Technicians are normally required to have and maintain vendor-specific training and/or certifications.
• Network Technicians are required to have four (4) years of training in a relevant telephone apprentice program or equivalent experience leading to journeyman level performance in this specialty, with two (2) years experience in the skills and work this position will typically perform.
• This position may travel by Air, Land, and Sea by commercial and non-commercial means to deliver service to Alaska Communications Customers located in remote areas of Alaska.
• Certifications and Licenses Required
• External applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment suitability assessment and either a DOT or non-DOT drug test, depending on the position.
• Network Technicians outside of Anchorage may be required to perform the duties of a Field Technician, which may require a Medical Certification or a CDL.
