As a data engineer intern, you'll be transforming our data ecosystems. You will conduct a variety of applied research on the rich data that flows through our systems while effectively leveraging our data to create a single source of truth data. You will be working on our big data technology stack consisting of a variety of distributed platforms; we utilize both open-source and proprietary frameworks for large scale data processing including Hadoop, HDFS,Hive, and Spark. We also use Kafka for ingestion, Azkaban for workflow management, in addition to other applications.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program, with an expected graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Responsibilities:
• Work with a team of high-performing data engineering professionals, and cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and build scalable data solutions.
• Build data expertise, act like an owner for the company and help manage complex data systems for a product or group of products.
• Perform all of the necessary data transformations to serve products that empower data-driven decision making.
• Establish efficient design and programming patterns for engineers as well as for non-technical partners.
• Design, implement, integrate and document performant systems or components for data flows or applications that power analysis at a massive scale.
• Understand the analytical objectives to make logical recommendations and drive informed actions.
• Engage with internal data platform teams to prototype and validate tools developed in-house to derive insight from very large datasets or automate complex algorithms.
Basic Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Graduate Degree in a quantitative discipline: computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, operations research, management of information systems, engineering, economics or equivalent and returning to the program after the completion of the internship.
• Experience in at least one programming language (eg. Python, R, Hive, Java, Ruby, Scala/Spark or Perl etc.).
• Experience with SQL or other relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Hadoop or other MapReduce paradigms and associated languages such as Pig and Hive.
• Proven experience in developing data pipelines using Spark and Hive.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Load) concepts, and patterns for efficient data governance.
• Experience working with databases that power APIs for front-end applications.
• Understanding data visualization tools (eg. Tableau, BI dashboarding, R visualization packages, etc.).
• Experience building front-end visualizations using JavaScript frameworks (eg. jQuery, Marionette, D3, or Highcharts).
• Experience in applied statistics and statistical modeling in at least one statistical software package, (eg. Advance R package, SAS, SPSS).
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About the position:
The Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing our general ledger, data flow into the general ledger, and guaranteeing the integrity and precision of data. Government Data Analyst III
Supports business decisions through the use of data mining and analytics and identifying and resolving routine to varied and/or more complex issues through the reconciliation of large data sets. Validates data against other data sources, requirements and/or technical specifications, and works with data exchange processes and workflows between Company, government entities, and delegated entities to ensure accurate and complete data.
Collaborates with various departments to identify and resolve routine to more complex issues and errors that involve internal and external systems, government data, and regulatory guidance. Executes and may lead small to medium size data-related analytical projects to drive business decisions and efficiencies. Ensures timely and accurate reporting, correction of issues and errors, implements best practices, support audits and attestations.
Participates in the development and implements data analytics, reconciliation, and reporting policies and procedures. Supports, trains and mentors more junior analysts. Functions well within a matrix organization (e.g.- supporting multiple leaders).
Maintains up to date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices as it relates to data. Attends CMS training sessions and other appropriate industry meetings.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Health Informatics, Healthcare or Business Administration, Statistics or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
3 years' experience as a Government Programs Data Analyst or equivalent experience in statistical or data analysis.
Health plan experience preferred.
Medicare or Medicaid managed care experience preferred.
Professional Certification(s):
Relevant Certification and/or Licensure preferred (or working towards).
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of government programs regulations, requirements best practices.
Knowledge of various data mining, reporting, and reconciliation tools and methodologies.

IOM, globally and within Iraq, is a major actor in post-conflict recovery and reconstruction, and as such is heavily involved in livelihood development and job creation programmes. IOM's strengths lie in its field presence and operational capacity to rebuild community infrastructure, conduct vocational trainings and provide grant funding to support business development. IOM Iraq livelihoods services cover a large scope of projects, from individual level assistance such as business development grants, vocational and on the job training, and job placements, to financial grants for small and medium enterprises across Iraq under the Individual Livelihoods Assistance (ILA) and Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) programs. Livelihoods programming contributes to creating conducive conditions to achieve durable solutions in communities affected by forced displacement as a result of conflict and climate change.
Summary of the Role
IOM conducts a range of research projects to inform its economic recovery programming in Iraq. These include operational research using machine learning and advanced analytics to automate processes and strengthen quality control mechanisms, as well as rigorous impact evaluations through randomized controlled trials (RCTs) conducted in collaboration with leading universities. IOM is currently looking for an intern to support the analysis of data collected in its Community Spillovers study, which is being conducted in partnership with Emory University and the University of California Santa Barbara and has received funding from the JPAL/IPA Displaced Livelihoods Initiative. The study looks at the impact of IOM livelihoods programming on local economic recovery, social cohesion and the achievement of durable solutions to displacement in areas of Iraq affected by the 2014 conflict.

As a Data Analyst Intern at RVO Health, you'll transform millions of impressions and unstructured data from our digital properties and products into powerful insights and tools that help us deepen connections between brands and consumers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Quality Assurance Tester / Business Analyst Intern internship will start with a one-on-one meeting with the Chief Technology Officer or your designated personnel to discuss the professional goal of your academic coursework to ensure you meet all academic requirements during the internship. Additionally, the internship will be supervised by the Technology Leadership to provide routine feedback and status updates. There will be an exit interview with the Technology Leadership and Human Resources for continual improvement of the program. The IT Quality Assurance Tester / Business Analyst Intern internship may provide exposure to a variety of opportunities, such as: mobile app and website design, participation in scrum and design meetings for IT projects, interaction with sales and marketing to review design and workflows of processes as well as other projects.
· Learn and participate in front end and backend application testing.
· Work with other Quality Assurance Analysts to support testing efforts for projects and software releases, including Integration, System, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing as a part of Agile / Scrum teams.
· Document and evaluate test results and defects, track and manage defects, and work with development and business teams to help troubleshoot issues.
· Coordinate project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate proposed solutions.
· Guide stakeholders through the technical implementation stages, including requirements gathering, solutioning, documentation, configuration, and user acceptance testing to ensure successful project execution.
· Track project schedules, identify risks, and support mitigation strategies.
